With the Flash’s forays into movies and TV shows have come Various attempts to translate Barry Allen’s costume into live action produced mixed results. In the CW’s The bottleGrant Gustin’s cowl is about as comic-accurate as it gets, and it even includes the lightning bolt indents that glow when Barry harnesses his speed. However, the rest of the costume is unremarkable with its plain red body. Ezra Miller’s Flash costume for the DCEU seems to be the opposite, as it is more visually exciting at a glance, but is held back by a stiff cowl, again failing to embody the Flash.

Weeks’ cosplay is the best of both worlds, like it Fixes the problems with the costumes by combining their best qualities in one, with some creative changes to make it unique. The costume takes the armored suit originated by the DCEU’s Flash and pairs it with a tile that bears a close resemblance to one of the Arrowverse. Additionally, it draws inspiration from The Flash’s hardcore costume Wrong: Gods Among Us: Year One By Tom Taylor and Jeremy Raapack. With influences ranging from live action to comics, this cosplay proves to be an awesome reimagining of The Flash’s signature style.

The Flash’s latest live action outing has a lot to be desired for fans, not helped by the titular hero’s costume falling short of expectations, but the cosplay shows that it is possible to do right by him in the seriously world. It’s unique, but still recognizable as the costume of DC’s fastest speedster. Weeks masterfully captures the essence of Flash with this cosplay in a way that past adaptations have not been able to.
