For more than 30 years, Blink-182 have redefined pop-punk music with their particular brand of irreverent, emotional and moving choruses. With nine studio albums and countless other releases, the band's list of hits, both commercial and niche, is extensive - Blink-182 have yet to play at least one song from the album. Take off your pants and jacket (TYPOAJ), in 23 years. However, thanks to a recent announcement from Mark Hoppus, that could be about to change.
Take off your pants and jacket Blink-182 era fourth studio album and a follow-up to their first commercial success, State Enema. Released by Interscope Records in 2001, TYPOAJ featured three modern rock hit singles: "The Rock Show", "First Date" and "Stay Together for the Kids". TPOAJ was also the first punk rock album to have songs at number one on the Billboard Top 200.
Although the band has performed continuously since its formation in 1992, it has not been possible to find the opportunity to play every song they have ever written. This leaves niche favorites like "Online Songs" out of rotation in favor of more radio-ready hits, a fact mourned by longtime Blink fans and modern listeners alike who delve deeper.

According to the live music aggregate website Setlist.fmBlink-182's performance statistics are staggering, with their three most played songs being "Dammit", "What's My Age Again?" and "All the Small Things", each of these songs reaching over 790 plays or more. That said, work from his early albums and lesser-known favorites from his major label releases are reserved to make way for your commercial favorites.
"Online Songs" is unique because it has only been performed live a handful of times, although It is a popular misconception that the song has never been performed live. In fact, Blink performed "Online Songs" only twice during the summer the album was released in 2001. This is an odd reality considering the song was written about Josie, Blink's girlfriend. Cara Rancho and features incredible guitars, the epitome of Blink's percussive prowess, and one of Mark's most memorable vocal performances.
With fewer performances than some of the band's covers, fans resigned themselves to insisting on “Online Songs” with no hope of hearing it live. However, that was until this fall, when Blink bassist, co-vocalist and co-founder Mark Hoppus broke the news that he would be interested in playing TPOAJ in its entirety live.

Watching Blink-182 live has always depended on a bit of luck. With competing side projects, internal tensions, and the passage of time, it's difficult to predict what the band will do year after year. In a November Twitch StreamHoppus said he would be interested in playing TYPOAJ in full soon. But what does this mean?
Everything points to an anniversary tour. Blink-182 only plays full albums when celebrating milestone achievements, such as 10 years of Untitled in 2003 or on the 20th anniversary tour of State Enema in 2019. No 20th anniversary tour for Untitled in 2023 and the band currently on R&R after a turbulent few years of touring, the facts seem ripe for an anniversary tour celebrating Hoppus favorite room 25th anniversary of the Blink-182 album.
Regardless of why Blink-182 avoided "Online Songs", The time has come for one of pop-punk's notoriously underrated gems. If history is any indicator, we shouldn't be surprised by a TPOAJ anniversary tour in 2026, or at the very least, a selection of shows with the band's fourth studio album at the forefront.
