The Yellowjackets Season 3 “Clear Answers” tip has to connect with Pit Girl, right?

A new Yellow Jackets The Season 3 tease suggests the pit girl mystery may finally be solved. Yellow Jackets season 2 ended with teenager Natalie (Sophie Thatcher) becoming the Antler Queen and adult Natalie (Juliette Lewis) sacrificing herself in the current timeline. Meanwhile, the cabin in the desert has been set on fire, which will force the girls to survive Yellow Jackets Season 3 without the shelter and security it provided. Misty (Christina Ricci) will also have to deal with her guilt over killing Natalie.

Hilary Swank and Joel McHale have joined the Season 3 cast and will likely be part of the current timeline – although their characters’ identities have not been announced. Now, as promised by Yellow Jackets co-creator Ashley Lyle, “there are at least two big questions with very clear answers” which will be addressed in the third season. One of the most important questions that can be answered is the identity of the pit girl killed in the first episode of the series.

Pit Girl’s identity needs to be revealed in Yellowjackets season 3

Season 2 Provided the Necessary Setup

Yellow Jackets‘pit girl seems like one of the biggest mysteries that can be easily answered in season 3. Now that Natalie is the Antler Queen, the cabin is gone and the Yellowjackets ate the corpses of Jackie (Ella Purnell) and Javi (Luciano Leroux) in Season 2, all the pieces are in place for the survivors to become more ruthless and begin the ritualized killing glimpsed in the first episode. It remains to be decided which of the young women will be sacrificed and killed in the pit to support the group.

The third season should also answer this mystery why the show is running out of characters, pit girl could be. Many of the characters have already died in the wild or are confirmed to be alive in the current timeline. The series could introduce a new character to be sacrificed and pretend it was there the whole time. This was done with Crystal (Nuha Jes Izman) and several others in Season 2, but it would be a disappointing way to resolve the long-running mystery. Mari (Alexa Barajas) being Yellow Jackets‘pit girl is more likely, but season three will need to confirm that.

What other important questions could be answered in Yellowjackets season three?

Pit Girl’s identity isn’t the only big mystery

Another compelling mystery to be solved would be the identity of the eyeless man that teenager Taissa (Jasmin Savoy Brown) and adult Taissa (Tawny Cypress) see. After arriving at the devastating and shocking revelation of the dog’s severed head in Yellow Jackets Finishing Season 1, this storyline was largely left aside in Season 2. Season 3 could bring the focus back to this subplot and reveal who the eyeless man is – and why Taissa has seen him since she was young.

In terms of broader issues, There is the question of whether the desert is truly supernatural. Taking a definitive stance on this could also answer what the symbol in the jungle actually represents and whether it has real power – or whether its only power is how certain characters fear it. As the series is planned for five seasons, mysteries like this may be too big to reveal now and are being saved for later in the game. This is why the pit girl mystery is the most likely question Yellow Jackets season three will answer.
