The War Within would be so much better if it added this race

World of Warcraft: The War Within The expansion was amazing on many fronts, but it could have been better if the race took Earth’s place as the new Allied race. The latest expansion was a huge step for the hit MMORPG and the beginning of their World Soul saga. It introduced an exciting new island to explore while bringing along many class changes and cool new mounts too The war within.

One of the more debated editions of The war within was the new earthen allied race. They were created by the Titans and some later evolved into the Dwarfs players are used to today. They bring a more monotone and robotic attitude to Azeroth while being able to play nine of the current classes. However, the big question surrounding them is whether the MMO needs a third playable dwarf race.

Why the Harronir should have been the allied race

Harronir make more sense than Erden

Instead of the Ertan, the Harronir would have made a much better allied race. Not only would they be more unique than Earth, but they could add more class features. Players have already pointed out how their connection to nature and druid abilities can change the class. The most obvious is some form of bat, since that’s already a shapeshifting ability they’ve been shown to have.

If Blizzard wanted to continue the partnership of the two factions, it would feel better to have a race that could relate to both sides better, like the Harronir.

Another reason for this, which plays into a larger issue between the two factions, is keeping the subject. The Alliance has always had the more humanoid races, with a few exceptions, whereas the Horde are more monster-like, so with what is essentially a dwarf race, joining both sides feels off. If Blizzard wanted to continue the partnership of the two factions, it would have felt better to have a race that could relate to both sides better, like the Harronir.

The Harronir are a race of seemingly hybrid night elves and trolls who live deep in Khaz Algar. They are a spiritually religious race known to have little to no interaction with those outside their species. Because of this, not much is known about the Harrunim outside of their druidic abilities and duty to protect the great roots that spread throughout their home region of Azg-Khat.

While it’s understandable since the story largely focuses on how the Earthlings became the Allied Race, it doesn’t fit the theme of Wow. The theme continued to become muddier as a world built around a large faction war, which was appealing to many, became less competitive.

Although this can tell a beautiful story for Wows future expansions and roadmap, it hampers certain aspects of the game. Regardless, if the developers wanted to continue with the plan, the Harronir Allied Race would have been made World of Warcraft: The war within A better product.
