I have to admit, when I loaded the last iteration of Indisputablethe console and PRAÇA boxing game, I was afraid that this stopgap before the December update would make the game worse. At first, I questioned the timing of the change. At best, it was an attempt to help satisfy fans who were somewhat disappointed with the gameplay, and at worst, it was an effort to get more new stuff into the game in order to capitalize on the fight card’s popularity. Jake Paul vs. on Netflix.
That being said, I was really pleasantly surprised by the latest update 1.1.3 Undisputed Patch actually did a pretty decent job on returning the game to its fun state – well, at least partially. Power punches now cost much more stamina, and wing-force right hooks have become much less effective than they were previously. That said, not everything is perfect, and the game still has a long way to go before most people consider it a great boxing game.
Undisputed Update 1.1.3 Fixes Power Scams
Deontay Wilder has been nerfed
Steel City has made some major updates that were promised for December, how to reduce Wilder’s overall stats and remove a trait. Most upgrades revolve around power punches, with the technique having a greater impact on both short-term stamina and maximum stamina. This is great, as previously, online play was essentially broken because everyone at heavyweight would simply go crazy and throw powerful blows, reducing the game to two Neanderthals hitting each other in the face with little rhyme or reason.
These positive changes fix the spam issue, but I’m not sure everyone online got the memo because it still feels meta. Additionally, maximum hook and direct stam costs have been increased. Ranked dropouts are now punished with a losswhich is a nice change and really got me trying a few rounds in ranked mode.
Lastly, the stamina cost of the push mechanic has been increased, so now spamming to avoid being shaken is no longer an option. Overall, this is a good thing, but I wish they’d add clinching back into the game – there’s a lot of opportunity for cool infighting with the mechanic, and I find it strange that they replaced it with pushing, a technically illegal move. in boxing. While there would probably be issues with people spamming it, making it punishable on failure would probably even the playing field.
Puncture tracking still needs improvement
And more stamina regeneration between rounds would be nice
Since Indisputable It’s a boxing game, there are a lot of different systems and mechanics that interplay with each other – which I can only assume makes the game incredibly difficult to balance. Punch tracking still feels offspecifically with lateral movement. A right hook to an opponent strafing to the right just doesn’t seem to have enough impact. Punch accuracy and tracking could use some tweaking, especially when it comes to landing counters.
While the changes in resistance are a big step in the right direction, they are still not perfect and may need a little tweaking as boxers run out of gas very quickly. Online matches only last 8 rounds, and stamina adjustments are apparent after just a few rounds. The fact that combinations (outside of power punches) now require more stamina in the short term also makes putting together combos in the later rounds almost impossible and leaves it open to a counter as the boxer is too gassed. That said, it’s much better than it was before.
So far, I’ve still experienced a lot of powerful spammers, but now at least it’s easier to stop them from decimating my boxer.
Increasing stamina regeneration between rounds It would probably go a long way toward fixing this – if there was some way to make corporal punishment maintain its impact on the fighter’s stamina, but not necessarily limit punch output for the entire duration of the fight. It seems like a pretty difficult balancing act, but I think Steel City can do it. The biggest issue, and something I hope the developers resolve in December, is punch tracking, so at least it looks like there’s a method players can use to understand why their boxer is missing easy-to-land punches.
Not everyone is in love with the changes
Exposing Online Spammers
One unintended aspect (hey, you can’t satisfy everyone) is that many players have become accustomed to the game’s broken gameplay. Indisputable prior to this patch. And to be honest, it’s hard to get around it. Slow, sluggish, brutal power blows are an essential part of the game for you, or do you believe they were overused and annoying previously. I fall into that last camp.
Of course, it’s now impossible to land that seven to eight punch combo regularly unless you want to completely deplete your stamina bar – but that’s boxing, not street fighter or Tekkenand this is a boxing simulation, no Fight Night. While this answer may not be satisfactory to everyone, and I know it seems somewhat antithetical to my resistance complaints, it’s impossible to actually make a game like this that satisfies everyone, as the arcade aspects of Fight Night are exactly what I don’t want to happen Indisputable.
As a result, I hope this means more strategic online gameplay. So far, I’ve still experienced a lot of powerful spammers, but now at least it’s easier to stop them from decimating my boxer. Those who are struggling with the changes and are not fans of pugilism should take the time to watch some classic heavyweight matches to get a sense of how many punches are thrown per round. It’s more than possible to throw simple three-hit combos and then attack with five or six hits. Indisputable; you just can’t overdo it.
Hopefully the December update will satisfy new players
There’s a chance the game could change its mixed reputation
I feel like Steel City is stumbling right now as far as public perception goes, and they’re getting a lot of criticism. Some have gone so far as to call the game “fraud“, and while I certainly don’t agree with that sentiment, I understand the frustration. That said, aside from the terrible practice of having to pay for boxers, I think the future is bright for Indisputable. In order for Steel City to fix the game, there are a few things they can do – at least, in my opinion, to improve the game.
A few more reversions to previous mechanics, such as fatigue of the same arm when using one arm to throw multiple blows in a row. No one does this in real boxing, and in theory the fourth punch would be much slower and weaker, but currently, users can fire three right hooks in what seems like milliseconds. This would help encourage more threads rather than spam and was a factor at one point in development.
Knockdowns and the minigame are good, but sometimes it’s frustrating when I land an incredibly devastating KO combo – only for the opponent to get up after the third or fourth knockdown. I’m not sure how the developers managed to balance this, but I’m sure I’m not alone in my frustration. Punch tracking should be improved, except in the case of active dodging or slipping. It doesn’t make sense that Canelo misses so many punches a foot away from his opponent, and it’s not good or rewarding to miss punches that I should have landed.
An adjustment to the way punches land during lateral movement would also encourage players to use specific punches to stop the opponent from circling. Indisputable the developers nailed the game’s movement, so these other gameplay tweaks to improve the underlying gameplay would put the game in a very good position for me. Even if it didn’t solve the rest of the small problems, it would reestablish the solid foundation on which the title stands in 2023.
