The surprise return of Steven Universe just reminded me how much I miss the original series

Warning: Spoilers ahead for MultiVersus: Collision #2 Revealed!Official return Steven Universe in the crossover comic reminded me how much I missed the series. It’s been four years since Rebecca Sugar’s acclaimed Cartoon Network series ended The Future of Steven Universe. I still remember the countless months of waiting for each new Steven Bomb to see what would happen next with the overarching narrative, and this new comic offers at least a hint of that excitement.

MultiVersus: Collision detected Issue 2, written by Brian K. Miller with art by John Sommariva, has a premise that I like primarily as DC’s “trinity” of Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman hunt various visitors across the multiverse. , including many iconic cartoon characters.

Steven Universe and Garnet appear in the crossover comic MultiVersus: Collision Detected #2.

Notable heroes and villains include Shaggy and Scooby-Doo, the Wicked Witch of the West and Rick Sanchez from Rick and Morty although the appearance that I’m really excited about Steven and Garnet from steven Universe, when they team up with Superman to destroy Livewire.

DC’s MultiVersus Crossover Perfectly Encapsulates What Made Me Love Steven Universe in the First Place

Steven Universe pulls out its shield to protect itself from Livewire

What’s so great about Steven Universe’s grand return after appearing in Multiverse it’s a video game how well the comics capture what made me fall in love with him in the first place. Just like in the series, he is brave and willing to help when needed, as well as make a few stupid jokes. He’s a generally wholesome character who enjoys what he does, and that’s even stronger when Superman joins the fight. The look of pure joy on Steven’s face when he sees Superman take off to help them fight Livewire fits his character perfectly.

In short, I was glad when Stephen showed up in MultiVersus: Collision detected No. 2. Perhaps what I liked most about Steven’s appearance is how he retains Steven’s fighting technique. His character is more defensive than offensive, so his main weapon is his mother’s shield. Seeing him charge his favorite weapon through the gem in his chest made me happy. Additionally, since Steven is one of the key figures in Superman’s vision, fans like me will be happy to know that he will play a pretty significant role in the comic’s history.

I love how MultiVersus perfectly refutes the most negative Steven Universe stereotype.

Trust me, Steven is more of a fighter than people think.

Superman will take part in the battle along with Steven Universe and Garnet

I understand that one of the most common criticisms of Steven Universe was how people viewed him as a character who would rather show his emotions than actually fight. However, Multiverse proves what I’ve known for years – that this is a reductive argument. Yes, Stephen is a pacifist who sees the best in everyone and wants to resolve conflicts through nonviolent methods. However, this does not mean that he will not pick up the pieces when needed, including in MultiVersus: Collision detected No. 2.

I would say that Steven is the perfect person to fight alongside the Man of Steel because they both share a sense of optimism that helps in their fight.

Stephen is a character who only views violence as a last resort. Because of this, he gets into fights numerous times throughout the series, proving that he can be an honorable fighter. He even shows it in MultiVersus, as Superman looks on admiringly and Garnet, happy to fight on their side. In fact, I would argue that Steven is the perfect person to fight alongside the Man of Steel because they both share a sense of optimism that helps them in their fight to protect the world and those they care about.

I’m thrilled that Collision Detected picks the PERFECT gem to join Steven

Sorry, pearls and amethyst

The coolest inclusion Multiverse taken when Steven returns, he has the Garnet mark with him. While it makes sense for her to join him because she’s one of the game’s fighters, these two heroes have definitely always had the most interesting relationship for me. Garnet was a motherly figure to Steven when he was growing up.. This only intensified when Steven learned that she was an amalgamation of two other lovestruck gems named Ruby and Sapphire, paving the way for inspiration for other LGBTQ+ shows.

The way these two interact in the main show is one of the best relationships on the show to date, and seeing them return with Steven’s return is a great way to remind fans like me of what made Steven Universe so special. I’m looking forward to seeing Stephen play in Collision detectedstory as the series continues. At the moment it has a very desirable return for Steven Universe fans love me while we wait for a possible revival, especially after years of absence from the show following its heartwarming finale.
