There may be a new buff to the Path of Erudite in Honkai: Star Trail 2.7, and is likely an unannounced improvement for the future release of 5-star Herta as a playable character in the game. Version 2.7 is the next patch for HoYoverse's turn-based RPG, which recently entered version 2.6. The current patch takes players back to the Holiday Planet, Penacony, as they explore a set of new maps and engage in new Trailblaze Continuance missions. For reference, the current patch is also responsible for the introduction of Rappa into Honkai: Star Trail.
Details about Version 2.7 have not yet been announced as HoYoverse focuses on Version 2.6 content, but beta testing for the next update has already begun, and with it, leaked information about its content is being shared. This includes the game kits and materials for Fugue and Sunday, the two confirmed 5-star characters arriving in the patch, for example. Other leaks include a huge story spoiler in Honkai: Star Trail 2.7, which could change the future of the game. Now, there have been leaks about a gameplay change that could end up strengthening the Path of Erudite.
Scholar characters may become more useful with leaked update in Honkai: Star Rail 2.7
One upgrade benefits multiple opponents
While the Path of Erudite may not receive a stat buff, per se, it may have its usefulness increased starting in version 2.7. According to information provided by the leaker known as HomDGCat, the game mode called Pure Fiction will undergo a major gameplay update that should completely change the way players face the activity. The leaked details were shared in a post flagged as “Reliable" about Reddit. As seen in the leak, a game mechanic called Grit will be added to Pure Fiction. Players muster courage as they defeat opponents and hit enemies with Honkai: Star Trail Character skills.
When a certain amount of Grit is accumulated, all characters act immediately and enemies suffer greater damage. After the effect happens, the Grit value is reset to a lower value. Based on leaked information, it appears that Pure Fiction will now reward players who use characters on the Path of Erudite. By hitting multiple targets with their Skills, Erudite characters can quickly accumulate Courage, especially since they specialize in hitting every opponent on the field. Gaining Courage for each enemy hit can make Erudite characters the greatest source of Courage in Honkai: Star Trail 2.7.
The 5-star Herta launch could benefit from the Leaked Erudition Buff in Honkai: Star Rail 2.7
Rumor has it that the character will be in version 3.0
This supposed advancement towards the Path of Erudite, which rewards players for each target hit by their abilities, appears to be in line with the leaked release of the 5-star version of Herta. The Genius Society member's doll has been a 4-star playable character since the game's release, but There are growing rumors that the true version of the character will be released under the guise of a 5-star unit in an upcoming patch.. The leaks about Herta 5 stars in Honkai: Star Trail indicate that it will be released in version 3.0, the first patch of the game's third year of content.
Leaks about Herta's true form indicate that she will follow the alignment of her 4-star form and be an Ice character on the Path of Erudite. Unlike her 4-star form, rumors indicate that 5-star Herta will be a main DPS rather than a sub-DPS. The leaks mention that the 5-star Herta can use her ability to hit multiple opponents with blows that explode and hit adjacent enemies, which then explode and hit other adjacent opponents. Herta could hit all enemies on the field with her ability, which would then benefit from the leaked Grit mechanic being introduced into Honkai: Star Trail.
The push to use Erudite characters in the Pure Fiction activity appears to be a way to prepare players to prepare for the 5-star Herta, if the leaks about their abilities so far are true. If her ability can hit every opponent on the field for massive damage, she can quickly build up Courage and then allow the rest of her team to thrive in battle. 5-star Herta would be a great asset to those challenging Pure Fictionespecially since the game currently lacks more powerful Erudite characters that haven't been leveled up in Honkai: Star Trail.
Screwllum may also benefit from the leaked Honkai: Star Rail 2.7 update
Rumors indicate that the member of the Genius Society is a character of erudition
While the timing of its supposed release is currently very confusing, Screwllum could also potentially benefit from the leaked Pure Fiction mechanic update in version 2.7. Like his Genius Society counterpart, Screwllum is rumored to be an Erudite character.. The leaks about Screwllum in Honkai: Star Trail indicate that he will be an imaginary 5-star unit capable of hitting multiple opponents at the same time, although his abilities have not yet been described. Its release, however, is uncertain – some rumors indicate that it has been postponed indefinitely or even canceled within HoYoverse's plans.
Still, if Screwllum is released in the future and is, in fact, an Erudite character as the leaks point out, he will be yet another playable unit that would likely benefit from the leaked update to the Pure Fiction activity. Of course, this also depends on whether or not your multi-target attack abilities would come from your Skill, since the leak does not mention that opponents hit by Basic Attacks would necessarily generate Grit within the activity. However, its supposed release may be in line with the push for using Erudite characters in Honkai: Star Trail.
Older Lore Characters May Return in Honkai: Star Rail 2.7
The upgrade could be enough to use units like Jing Yuan and Himeko once again
In addition to new characters like 5-star Herta and Screwllum, older Erudite characters may also benefit from the leaked Grit mechanic. In fact, they could become crucial in Pure Fiction while this update is in play. As was mentioned previously, Scholar characters fell out of favor with the arrival of stronger characters who don't necessarily target every opponent on the field. Units like Acheron, Firefly and Feixiao in Honkai: Star Trail have become staples in team compositions and there are fewer reasons to use Erudite characters.
With a mechanic that benefits hitting multiple targets with the use of a Skill, Erudite characters can return to the game meta, even if limited in Pure Fiction. Of course, all of these leaks should be taken with a grain of salt. Details about Grit may be incorrect, incomplete, or subject to change, and there is no confirmation whether 5-star Herta and Screwllum as playable characters are indeed true. However, the leaks give hope to the idea that the Erudite characters could finally make their long-awaited return in Honkai: Star Trail.
