Sandra Kirby in the Territory

Of all the characters in Territory, Sandra Kirby is by far the worst candidate to take over Marianne Station. However, she is also one of the closest to achieving it. In TerritorySandra Kirby is a billionaire mining magnate who has a faux-farmer aesthetic despite mostly being seen on private planes and mansions. Throughout the show, she is constantly trying to get into the Lawson family business, hoping to buy the land that Marianne Station is on, as well as the land owned by Nolan, in order to carry out her own plan.

Sandra Kirby wants Marianne Station, but doesn’t want it to be a cattle ranch. Instead, Sandra has a plan to build a huge road through the land, which will make her mining operations even more profitable. His plan would require the destruction of all types of natural landscapes, such as Territory‘I’m sorry place.’ It is eventually revealed that she actually wants to use the “Sorry Place” as a nuclear waste dump, a revelation that causes almost all of the characters in Territory immediately decide that she can’t win at the end of the show.

Played by Jay Ryan

Campbell Miller in the Territory

Sandra Kirby isn’t the only outsider to the Lawson family who wants to get her hands on Marianne Station, as Campbell Miller is trying to implement a similar scheme throughout the entire process. Territory. Campbell Miller starts as a secondary character in Territorybeing Graham Lawson’s main political opponent. Before his death, Daniel Lawson was the head of a collective of cattle breeders, a position that carries a lot of power when it comes to doing business and passing legislation. After Daniel’s death, Campbell managed to take control, immediately making him an enemy of the Lawsons.

The Lawson family knew that Campbell Miller wanted this against them, something that is evident throughout his tenure as head of the group. Campbell Miller closes Marianne Station due to false claims of bovine disease, showing how far he is willing to go to harm the Lawsons. Campbell eventually teams up with Sandra Kirby, throwing her hat into the battle to see who will take over the next Marianne station.

Although Campbell Miller is every bit as villainous as Sandra Kirby, he is at least more qualified to be the head of the largest cattle ranch in the world. Instead of just being a businessman, Campbell Miller is actually a cattle rancher. His role in the cattlemen’s association shows that he knows what he is talking about, presumably running his own successful farm. However, shooting and killing multiple people makes Campbell Miller less than desirable.

4

Graham Lawson

Played by Michael Dorman

When it comes to the real members of the Lawson family who have the chance to take over Marianne Station, Graham Lawson is the least qualified. Graham Lawson is the younger brother of Daniel Lawson, with their father’s decision to give Daniel the role instead of Graham creating a huge rift in their relationship. Following Daniel’s death, however, Graham is one of the clear candidates, with him hoping that Colin Lawson will pass the role to him. Graham Lawson appears to be a great candidate until the Territory season 1 finale, where it is revealed that he didn’t get the job.

Graham Lawson knows his way around when it comes to livestock farming, being easily capable of running the farm when it comes to it. However, Graham Lawson also has some major character flaws that prove he would struggle in the role. Graham quickly becomes furious, and he even shoots Hank Hodge after Daniel’s saddle is found on his land. Additionally, Graham Lawson has some serious addiction issues, and his alcoholism only got worse after his prison sentence.

Colin and Graham’s relationship is strained and although Colin is cruel to Graham, Colin’s astute business mind means he probably knows what he’s talking about when he says Graham isn’t fit to run Marianne Station.. Colin has been in the ranching business for years, and while it’s sad, he may be right in the fact that Graham just isn’t ready.

3

Emily Lawson

Played by Anna Torv

Emily Lawson is the main protagonist of Territoryand she is one of the best candidates to be the next head of Marianne Station. Emily Lawson is fantastic at her jobbeing constantly seen tending to livestock and wildlife, as well as taking care of various tasks on the farm. Emily is normally level-headed and takes care of her family and the employees at Marianne Station. She also has a shrewd business mind, constantly being seen making deals and compromises with those around her. However, her deal with the man who found Daniel’s horse led to his downfall.

Emily Lawson’s main flaw is her role in Daniel’s death. It is eventually revealed that she shot Daniel’s horse, leaving Daniel to be eaten by wild dogs. An unidentified man saw this happen and blackmailed Emily, with her agreeing to protect the “Place of Apologies” in exchange for her secrecy. When she fails to do so, however, the unidentified man tells Colin that Emily is the killer. Colin already believed that Emily only married into the family to get her hands on Marianne Station, and the revelation of her secret only makes it less likely that she will have a role in the future.

There is one more candidate for the role of Marianne Station from outside the Lawson family: Nolan Brannock. Nolan is a rancher who often works at Marianne Station, although he also has his own world of characters and subplots. Territory. However, Sandra Kirby attempts to use Nolan to get into Marianne Station, with her deciding to make a deal with him that will allow her to gain even more control of the land if he allows her to do some construction on it. Nolan actually seals the deal, although it doesn’t come to fruition.

Nolan Brannock is smart, humble and great at businessand knows everything there is to know about livestock farming. Nolan’s mentorship of Dezi shows that he will be a great leader for the employees at Marianne Station, and his work ethic will only elevate the station further. Nolan is one of the best characters who could take over Marianne Station, although whoever ends up getting the job is a little better.

1

Marshall Lawson

Played by Sam Corlett

Of all the characters who could take over Marianne Station in Territory Season 1, Marshall Lawson is the best. Although he is not as skilled as some of his relatives due to his youth, he has none of the flaws that they do. Marshall even escapes Marianne Station after seeing how the Lawsons turned against Daniel’s death, showing that he is willing to improve in ways they have not. Lawson knows that the desire for power and wealth will destroy Marianne Station, which is why Colin chooses him at the end of Territory.

Of all the members of the Lawson family and beyond, Colin decides to crown Marshall as the next king of Marianne Station. Despite Marshall’s youth, Colin believes he will be the best to take the business forward, a decision that the rest of the company Territorythe characters of are not fans. If a second season happens, viewers will be able to see if Colin was right in his decision, as the end of Territory The first season is certainly not the end of the struggles between the Lawsons.
