This is not the only feature that will help players make it out alive, as well the use of a phonometer also allows them to track how much sound they make as they traverse the game. This tool can also measure ambient noise from the world around them, which in turn allows players to make careful decisions as to whether or not the ambient noise is enough to drown out the sound of their actions.
