Netflix The perfect couple Proved to be a surprisingly fun murder mystery show with a star-studded cast, and the 10 actors delivered the best performances. The perfect couple Cast and characters included some very big names, among them actresses Nicole Kidman and Dakota Fanning. Even beyond the Hollywood heavy-hitters, however, there was the full ensemble cast of The perfect couple This made the somewhat odd woodnit work.
The perfect couple was based on a book of the same name, written by Elin Hilderbrand, and although there were differences between the Show and the book, the basic framework remained the same. The wealthy Winbury family, consisting of father Tug, mother Greer, three sons (Tom, Benji and Will), and sister-in-law Abby meet in Nantucket for Benji’s wedding to his fiancee Amelia. The morning of the wedding, that plan goes sideways when Amelia’s best friend Merritt is found dead. The real killer is not revealed until the finale, and These 10 actors gave the best performances throughout the show’s many twists.

Sam Nivola
Will Winbury was delightfully emotional
Will Winbury is at the bottom of the Winbury family tree as the youngest son, which becomes very important as the murder plot unfolds. In the end, it is revealed that The motive for Merritt’s murder had to do with the Winbury Trust FundIn which the Winbury children receive their money only when the youngest turns 18. The revelation that Merritt is pregnant with Thug’s child throws that money into question, sadly leading to her death.
Even so, Will remains the baby of the family throughout the show, and Sam Nivola plays the role brilliantly. Will is emotional and prone to outbursts of anger or frustration (although that proves not to be all that unusual in his family), at one point storming away from the dinner table and running away in a boat. Nivola plays the part of the overlooked, enraged teen, and it makes Will a standout, even in a show where so much else is going on.

Billy Howl
Benji Winbury acted opposite Amelia beautifully
Of the three Winbury brothers, Billy Howle’s Benji is arguably the most subdued. He is reactive to his brothers, especially older brother Tom, who intentionally antagonizes him, but it is clear that he tries to keep the peace. In fact, this is a major part of his dynamic with his mother and with Amelia. In a classic mother-in-law vs. daughter-in-law dynamic, Greer is highly critical of Amelia, and Benji is often caught in the middle.
Because of this, quite a bit of Benji’s screen time involves him defending Amelia to Greer, although, occasionally, he also tries to get Amelia to see more of Greer’s side. That’s not to say that Benji never loses his cool, though. In one of the show’s weirdest scenes, Benji smashes Tom’s face into his wedding cake, displaying the same aggression his brothers often do. In both Benji’s calm scenes and his chaotic ones, however, Howle is a class act.

Donna Lynn Champlin and Michael Beach
The buddy cop duo played off each other effortlessly
Donna Lynne Champlin’s Nikki Henry and Michael Beach’s Dan Carter make up the cop duo who work throughout the show’s six-episode run to crack the murder case. Although they don’t break into a complete ‘good cop/bad cop’ dynamic, Dan tends to take a more personal approach to the Winbury family, as he has a history with them, whereas Nicky is more direct. However, it is Nikki who ends up being the funnier of the two, even if it is a dry humor, because she has little patience for the fabulous rich family and often becomes sarcastic.
Both Champlin and Beach play their roles well, never falling into goofier tropes of detectives in a murder mysteryWhich is a hard line to toe. In fact, while much of the show is (delightfully) quite mischievous, the two police officers act as a bit of a grounding force. Even if the Winbury family is strange and funny – sometimes unsettlingly so – Nicky and Dan have a more serious role.

Isabelle Adjani
Isabel Nallet played a unique role in the Winbury family
Isabel Nallet is one of the strangest characters in The perfect coupleAs she always seems to be at least a little off in her own world. A key part of this is her habit of suddenly switching to French, even if the person she’s talking to has no idea what she’s saying. Of course, this could be a status symbol as much as anything else, because Isabel certainly doesn’t seem the type to shy away from flashing her wealth or class.
Isabelle Adjani plays the role beautifully, quickly stealing scenes with her quirky nature and flirty nature.
Isabelle Adjani plays the role beautifully, quickly stealing scenes with her quirky nature and flirty nature. The flirtation is not superficial either; Throughout the show, Isabel is carrying on an affair with Tom. Adjani still manages to make the character so much more than an obscure mistress, and she certainly gives one of the best performances in the show.

Thug Winbury proved to be both likable and fearsome
Tag Winbury is a pleasantly unique character in the show. In many ways, he is the cause of all the conflict throughout the plot because he is the reason why Merritt is pregnant. Even so, it’s hard to blame him too much for this because he’s far from the only cheater of the bunch. Not only his son Tom, but also protagonist Amelia doubles in intimacy outside their relationship. Thug also seems incredibly guilty for a good chunk of the time, partly because he has such a clear motive.
Like Isabel von Adjani, Liev Schreiber also impressively manages to avoid becoming a stereotype of a cheating husband. Thug is relatable and even charming at times, and he also proves to be a lot more complicated than he seems (not in a good way) when he attends Greer’s book event drunk and ends up singing on stage next to her and then falls off the stage. Stage. While Thug certainly isn’t a good guy, he’s at least an entertaining one, thanks to Schreiber’s performance.

Eve Hewson
Amelia Sachs made a brilliant protagonist
Although The perfect couple Has an ensemble cast in the sense that multiple storylines are explored in detail, Amelia Sacks still feels like the protagonist of the show. For one, she is positioned opposite Greer, who, at least at first, feels like the antagonist. Amelia also acts as the eyes and ears of the audience throughout the show because she is the ‘normal’ one Among this family of rich and friendly, beautiful, terrible people.
While perhaps none of the characters are particularly likable (intentionally), Amelia comes close.
This may come off as Amelia being a bit of a martyr or with a superiority complex, but Eve Hewson doesn’t play it that way. Yes, Amelia is morose even before her friend dies, but it never feels self-indulgent. She seems like a woman grieving the murder of her best friend and realizing that her relationship isn’t working, and while perhaps none of the characters are particularly likable (intentionally), Amelia comes close.

Jack Raynor
Thomas Winbury brought real energy to the screen
Jack Reynor’s Thomas Winbury is easily the worst of the three brothers, but he gives one of the best performances. Tom is incredibly antagonistic and juvenile throughout the show, taking jabs at not only Benjy, to whom he is much closer in age, but also at Will, who is not even 18. As mentioned, Benjy does smash Tom’s face at his wedding Cake, but it doesn’t come out of nowhere. Tom was running around with the cake, very much like a child and particularly scary given the context of all that was going on.
Tom also carries on an affair with Isabel while his wife is pregnant, although, again, this seems par for the course in the Winbury family – although that doesn’t make it any less terrifying. Given all these behaviors, it would be so easy to really hate Tom, but Reynor brings something to the character that saves him. Tom is certainly despicable, like most of the Winbury family, but Reynor’s performance still makes him enjoyable to watch.

Meghann Fahy
Merritt Monaco was minimal on screen, but stole the show at times
As the murdered character, Merritt Monaco unsurprisingly gets nearly as much screen time as the rest of the cast, yet There is something about Meghann Fahy’s performance that makes her stand out as one of the best. Merritt does not come across as the purely tragic victim and not the utterly terrifying mistress. Instead, she is vibrant and compelling, drawing eyes to her whenever she is on screen.
This does not mean that it is forgivable that she destroyed a family the way she did. It simply means that Fahy brings something more to the character that makes her not so easily cast aside. Despite sleeping with Thug Winbury and therefore betraying both the Winbury family and her best friend (because Thug is Amelia’s brother-in-law), Merritt is not an out-and-out horrible person. She, like the rest of the characters, is deeply flawed, but thanks to Fahy, she’s also quite fun to watch.

Dakota Fanning
Abby Winbury made a stunning killer
It wasn’t until the last half of The perfect couple Finale that Abby Winbury is revealed to be the real killer. While everyone in the Winbury family was a suspect at some point, and while there were some clues that Abby was the killer, this is still a thrilling twist. Several other characters, Greer and Thug Chief among them, seemed to have much more pressing motives for killing Merritt, but, in the end, Abby’s desperation to get Tom’s trust fund money led her to murder.
Specifically, the trust fund money would only be released once the youngest Winbury was 18. As Merritt’s baby put this into question, Abby decided that both of them had to go. Not surprisingly, Dakota Fanning gave an incredible performance, perfectly portraying the empathetic mother-in-law and rule-abiding daughter-in-law who just wanted to fit in and not step on toes. It was truly a pleasure to watch Fanning in this role, and she was easily one of the show’s best.

Nicole Kidman
Nicole Kidman was the perfect monster-in-law
It is perhaps not surprising that Award-winning actress Nicole Kidman gave the best performance in The perfect couple. Kidman was absolutely masterful as the show’s horrible mother-in-law. In fact, while each Winbury was terrible in their own unique way, Greer started the show as seemingly the worst of the worst. She was too critical, obsessed with her sons, and completely self-centered. For all these reasons, it is easy to assume from the beginning that she was the murderer.
Ultimately, Greer was more harmless than she seemed, even finding Amelia seemingly to make amends in the show’s conclusion. But before the shift, it was a joy to see Kidman be so terrifying to everyone around her, and she, as always, brought a star quality to the show. While all the actors in The perfect couple It was wonderful, Nicole Kidman is easily the front-runner.
In the idyllic setting of Nantucket, a lavish wedding turns sinister when a body is discovered in the harbor just before the ceremony. As the investigation unfolds, every member of the wedding party becomes a suspect, unraveling secrets and lies. Starring Nicole Kidman, Liev Schreiber and Dakota Fanning, the series promises intense drama and mystery.
