Not just some MMPR Actors return for cameos and even recurring roles in other shows and movies, but properties like the comics and the games regularly revisit the “Teenagers with Attitude” Audiences were introduced in 1993.
Trini Kwan’s final appearance in Power Rangers Was in season 2, episode 20, “Opposites Attract” released in 1994. It was also the last proper appearances of Jason Lee Scott and Zack Taylor before Austin St. John, Walter Emanuel Jones, and Thuy Trang left the show. The original Red, Black and Yellow Rangers would still appear in a couple of other episodes, albeit through reused footage and stand-in body doubles. Thuy Trang sadly died in a car accident on September 3, 2001. Since then, Power Rangers Trini has paid tribute to Trang several times, and Trini’s legacy has only grown.

Force of ChaosAn upcoming Great morphine Power Rangers novel by Diana Ma, is the latest entry in the Power Rangers To put Trini front and center. Set during the Great morphine era, Force of Chaos is expected to cover the first few days of the Power Rangers Through the perspective of Trini. The book, which is set to be the first in a series of Power Rangers novels, is based on the events of the show but apparently draws inspiration from BOOM! studios Power Rangers Comics, especially these Go, go Power Rangers Run.
But Trini’s world turns upside down when the homecoming game is attacked by an otherworldly winged beast with an army of clay soldiers. Unable to sit by while innocent people get hurt, Trini springs into action – alongside science genius Billy, her childhood best friend Zack, popular jock Jason, and new girl Kimberley.
The official synopsis for Force of Chaos Mentions Zack as Trini’s best friend from childhoodWhich is not something from the show and is closer to how they are portrayed in the comics. Force of Chaos Also describes Kimberly as the “New Girl,” Which matches her story in the comic book canon. Finally, it hints at a potential relationship between Trini and Zack, which the comics have explored. Force of Chaos Will allow us to revisit the formation of the Power Rangers through Trini’s eyes, delivering something neither the show nor the comics have done. The book comes out on May 13, 2025

Force of Chaos is not the only fresh one Power Rangers Project dedicated to the original Yellow Ranger. Power Rangers: Once and ForeverThe Netflix special celebrating the show’s 30th anniversary was fully dedicated to Thuy Trang and Trini’s legacy. Before Once & AlwaysTrini still lived in Power Rangers CanonTechnically appeared with her helmet in a couple of crossover episodes. In the beginning of Once & AlwaysTrini is killed by Robot Rita, allowing the rest of the special to show how the loss of the original Yellow Ranger affected the rest of the team.

Once & Always Also introduced is Meehan Kwan, Trini’s daughter, Who had studied with Zack and wanted to avenge her mother. Meehan learned that a Power Ranger never seeks revenge and morphed into the new Yellow Ranger at the end of the special. Once & Always Ended with a beautiful tribute to Thuy Trang and Jason David Frank, the latter of whom unfortunately died on November 19, 2022. Being the first proper Great morphine Reunion since the end of the show dedicated to Thuy Trang and Trini was a most suitable decision that honored both the actress and the character.
The comics also made Trini even more important to the Power Rangers Universe

In addition to Once & Always And the upcoming novel, Trini played a major role in the latter Power Rangers comics. The original Yellow Ranger has been part of this universe since its inception Great morphine Power Rangers And Go, go Power RangersYet she arguably became even more important when the Boom! Studios continuity introduced the Omega Rangers. A massive but welcome recon, the comics established that Trini, Zach and Jason did not leave the team to attend a peace conference – They were actually sent on a secret mission.
