The original Big Little Lies star is hopeful for a season 3 return

Great Little Lies Star Zoë Kravitz shares what she knows about season 3. Based on the bestselling novel of the same name by Liane Moriarty, the 1st HBO series fully adapted the novel and received critical acclaim. The success of Season 1 led to HBO greenlighting Season 2, with Moriarty providing a narrative for a sequel that seemingly brought the series to a satisfying conclusion. However, season 2 is finally no longer the case after series star and executive producer Nicole Kidman confirmed that Great Little Lies Season 3 was in the works.

While talking with People, Kravitz admits that she knows “nothing” Official about season 3, but is nonetheless “Excited to do it.” The stories of Kravitz Bonnie Carlson and Great Little Lies‘ Other characters seem to be still in early stages of development, as Kravitz explains that “I’m waiting to see, like everybody else, the third season that’s happening…waiting by the phone, waiting for the script to be done.“As for Bonnie’s circumstances in season 3, Kravitz believes that “I think Bonnie is divorced – that’s good for her.”

The Monterey Five could no longer be at the forefront of history

With Bonnie, Celeste Wright (Kidman), Madeline Mackenzie (Reese Witherspoon), Jane Chapman (Shailene Woodley), and Renata Klein (Laura Dern) all arrive at the police station during the Great Little Lies Season 2 ending, it’s hard to see how the series can continue in season 3. The Monterey Five turning themselves in to the authorities, ending up lying down and facing the consequences of their actions was a satisfying way to end the series. While the Monterey Five will undoubtedly still be important in season 3, The story may shift to the younger generation.

Iain Armitage and Kathryn Newton played the respective roles of Ziggy Chapman and Abigail Carlson, and were important to the story in varying capacities, particularly during Great Little Lies Season 1’s bullying storyline. Between Young SheldonSeven seasons in, Armitage is now a more experienced actor, as is Newton with her starring roles in Netflix’s prematurely canceled series The societyThe Marvel Cinematic Universe Ant-Man and the Wasp: QuantumaniaAnd Lisa Frankenstein. The other young actors who play the children of the Monterey Five, including Nicholas Crovetti, Chloe Coleman, Darby Camp and Ivy George may also return as part of the leading cast. It would be nice to see Bonnie divorced from Nathan Carlson (James Tupper), who was not a good partner for her, along with the other women who make personal strides, whether the strides occur in or out of prison. Great Little Lies Season 3 has significant potential, but is still in the early development stages.
