While fans wait for the release of Pokémon Legends: ZArecently announced TCG the sets could also point to upcoming fifth-gen remakes.
As posted in PokéBeachtwo new Unova themes TCG sets, Black Lightning and White Flamewill be released on June 6, 2025, in Japan, potentially hinting at planned release date for remakes of Unova region games also. Although there has been no official confirmation or announcement of upcoming Pokémon console games in addition to Subtitles: ZA, Pokémon media and merchandise, including the TCGIt is usually themed and timed to coincide with game releases.

With Game Freak likely still in development Subtitles: ZAhowever, there is some potential for possible Black and white remakes will be outsourced to another studio, similar to how Brilliant Diamond and Brilliant Pearl were developed by ILCA.

As the last “classic” Pokémon games to make use of 2D sprites, remakes of the fifth generation entries have been highly sought after, especially as opinions of Unova games have increased over time. While there is still no guarantee that remakes of Black and white are planned for release, the reveal and release of these remakes, coinciding with upcoming sets for the Pokémon Trading Card Gamewould be a welcome surprise for fans as they wait for Subtitles: ZA.
