The most underrated superhero series in comics today comes to a close, as Creator Michel Fiffe brings Death of copra to picture comics next year. The “superhero revenge machine” that ran for forty-five issues and a handful of specials is ready to go out with a bang.
Written and drawn by Michel Fiffe, Copra has been a staple on the indie comics scene since it launched in 2012. Heavily inspired by DC Suicide Squad comics from the 1980s, Copra Tells the story of a group of super-villains who work off their sentences by engaging in high-risk missions. After being betrayed by the US government, the team goes on the run while trying to stay alive.
Scheduled to run for four issues, Death of copra Brings the story of Lloyd, Guthie, Wir, Gracie and Sonia Stone to a close in what is hopefully an epic fashion.

Although it is easy to see the commonalities between the characters in Copra To their DC and Marvel counterparts, Michel Fiffe’s series is not just an attempt at fan-fiction. The writer/artist takes the building blocks of a superhero universe and reassembles it into something completely fresh and new, A completely unique approach to superhero comics filtered through an underground indie sensibility. Fiffe’s mixed media approach to the artwork also makes Copra Unlike anything else on the stands, how the artist’s use of layouts and design fuel one of the best-looking packages in comics today.
Fiffe looks to be pulling out all the stops for his grand finale, with a round of variant covers for Death of copra #1. In addition to three covers by Fiffe himself, there’s also a variant by comics luminary Jeff Lemire, whose own Black hammer Acts as a nice companion piece to Copra. Fiffe also creates a special crossover cover featuring Rob Liefeld’s Bloodstrike, which Fiffe previously wrote and drew in the Bloodstrike: The Brutalists Miniseries. Whether they’ve been around since the beginning or are looking to jump in just in time for the climax, fans will certainly have plenty of options when picking up their copy of Death of copra.
Copra is a superhero epic for the modern age
Given that this is all the creation of one artist, readers can expect that Death of copra Will truly be the last chapter of this story. Although various corporate characters such as Superman, Captain America and Doctor Strange have all had high-profile deaths, they will inevitably be brought back at some point. The creator-owned world plays by completely different rules, so fans can at least expect a definitive end for Michel Fiffe Death of copra of Image comics.
