Lord of the Rings Online has been working quietly for the past 17 years and while it may not have the dedicated player base of World of Warcraft, the release of its latest expansion is a great time to try it out. Released at the height of the MMO craze, LOTRO managed to carve out a decent niche based on the extensive Middle-earth lore, whose appeal was further bolstered by the success of Peter Jackson’s film trilogy. The game hasn’t rested on its laurels, continually releasing massive expansions that keep the community happy.
Put SteamStanding Shore Games shared a lengthy review of the long awaited Morgoth’s Legacy expansion that tasks players with exploring the untamed lands of Near Harad on a journey to discover ancient secrets buried beneath the shifting sands. The latest region features a challenge level of 150 and is made up of four new zones full of Achievements, Quests and Explorations. Those who want to spend their time productively will be able to accept and complete more than 350 new missions, while another raid is planned to be launched at a later date.
LOTRO is already a huge game
Legacy Of Morgoth makes everything even better
Nearby Harad is without a doubt the greatest addition to the Lord of the Rings Onlinebut Morgoth’s Legacy it also makes major changes and adjustments to the established formula. Perhaps most exciting is the Elf update, as Standing Shore Games has given the race a much-needed overhaul. Players now have expanded options when creating an Elf, similar to the various skins provided for the Race of Men. Unfortunately, High Elves were not included in this latest update, but the developer wants fans to know that they will be reviewed at a later date.
As players venture into Near Harad, they will need to pay attention to three new faction reputations: The Ikorbani (People of Shagâna), The Phetêkari of Umbar (Guardians of the Tales) and the Adúrhid. The first is the main group of the expansion and most of the new missions will help players increase their reputation with them. There’s plenty to do in the sunny deserts, so LOTRO players must start sooner or later; Morgoth’s Legacy is now available to everyone.
We can’t forget LOTRO
Deserves much more credit
Although most of my friends played a lot World of Warcraft In the past, I liked it much more Lord of the Rings Online. It’s a fun adaptation of Tolkien’s world that I wish more people recognized like the fantastic MMO experience it is. I’m looking forward to diving back into this and seeing what Morgoth’s Legacy has to offer, even if I don’t necessarily have time to delve into the expansion.
