ONE Born from the mists film has the opportunity to really exaggerate the horror of two characters from the books, and Doing so would help add more complexity to a future Well of Ascension plot. There are many disturbing aspects of the world found in Brandon Sanderson’s books, including the brutal and barbaric Allomantic art known as Hemalurgy – the horrific addition of metal spikes through vital organs to grant them Allomantic power. However, Born from the mistsThe film adaptation should focus on the disturbing elements of a particular species, as the books don’t emphasize this enough.
Sanderson gives very subtle hints about kandra in The Final Empire, but it was only with Kelsier’s death, at the end of the book, that Vin, and therefore the reader, finally understood what Lord Renoux really was. It is later revealed that The kandra, an evolved form of miswraith, can consume the bones of the dead to pose as its pupils. And to sufficiently underline the horror of this scenario, the Born from the mists the film should change the way the kandra are presented from the beginning.
The Mistborn books don’t delve enough into the disturbing nature of the Kandra
The film should give the species a greater focus from the beginning
All over Born from the mists In Era 1, readers are introduced to two kandra who play key roles in the stories’ central plot: Oreseur and TenSoon. However, the books don’t address the horror elements of their characters’ species as much as they should. The book initially introduces the idea of a mistwraith, a species similar to the kandra in that it absorbs and builds its own skeleton using the bones of other creatures. Although Sanderson does a phenomenal job describing his appearance, the Born from the mists films have the opportunity to expand their disturbing capabilities in much more detail.
It is known at the beginning of the books that Vin is very uncomfortable with the idea of a mist wraith absorbing the bones of another, and once the idea of the kandra is presented, she is completely distraught. His uneasiness around the creatures worsens when it is revealed that Oreseur consumed Kelsier’s bones after his death. As the first book does not include Oreseur’s point of view, readers do not get the full picture of how a kandra can accomplish such a task. This is something that Born from the mists the film could build on making kandra look much scarier on screen.
The Mistborn Movie Could Make Your Kandra Story Much Scarier Than the Books
The film can tease your nature much earlier
Based on Sanderson’s descriptions, kandra are known to have amorphous muscular bodies that can form into any shapedepending on the bones they digested. However, readers do not get a detailed look at this process until TenSoon’s narration in The Hero of All Ages. To be able to portray the horror of this process throughout the series, the adaptation must implement a much-needed strategy. Born from the mists book change and show it earlier. Obviously, this will have to be done strategically and carefully so as not to spoil Lord Renoux’s revelation at the end of the book.
In order for the audience to truly feel disturbed and afraid of such a character, the film needs to highlight his monstrous representation from the beginning. To accurately foreshadow later events in the book, it would be great to see the Born from the mists film embraces the horror of kandra by introducing a “monster“to the overall plot – teasing glimpses of a creature that could become whoever they digested. This would help add an element of suspense throughout the film.and that would leave the public questioning who to trust.
The adaptation must balance Kandra’s terror with Oreseur and TenSoon’s characterization
The Kandra are simply a misunderstood species
Although it is important that the Born from the mists the adaptation captures the horror of the kandra from the beginning, must also be careful to leave space to accommodate the characterization of Oreseur and TenSoon. Once it is revealed that Lord Renoux is, in fact, the kandra Oreseur, he explains to Vin that Kelsier passed his contract on to her. Vin is clearly distressed about having a kandra in her service, and although they don’t get along much of the time, The Well of Ascensionhe proves to be a loyal partner – even though it is TenSoon posing as Oreseur for much of the book.
If the Born from the mists The film is carefully based on the dynamic nature of kandra, it will help to exceed expectations more easily and make THE Well of Ascensionthe plot twist even better.
As the story progresses, Vin and TenSoon form the beginning of a friendship, and more about kandra’s true nature is revealed to the reader. Although the kandra’s abilities are still quite disturbing, it is later revealed that they are simply a misunderstood species. Bound by contracts with humans, kandra are used as spies, acting on orders given to them by whomever they are employed by. If the Born from the mists The film is carefully based on the dynamic nature of kandra, it will help to exceed expectations more easily and make THE Well of Ascensionthe plot twist even better.
