Red Hulk was teased as the villain of Captain America: Brave New Worldbut a screenshot from the latest trailer actually complicates this, showing that the film’s true villain will emerge from the shadows of his previous appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The new film seems to make a series of changes to the MCU landscape, and while the new Captain America: Brave New World The trailer revealed a lot, it looks like there’s even more that remains hidden. Reviewing Captain America: Brave New World The casting details show several important characters expected to appear.
While Marvel has often been faithful to much of the comic tradition, many characters in the MCU are different from their comic book counterparts. For some this is in the design, while for others it is in the motivations and characteristics. While Red Hulk’s design in the upcoming film appears faithful to the comic book source, it appears that much of the character’s history has been tweaked. These changes help inform some of the more complex and hidden details that will certainly play an important role in the film’s story.
Red Hulk’s MCU origin has been teased for years
Ross has been part of the Marvel universe since 2008
Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, who will become Red Hulk in the new film, has been an important part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe since its first appearance in The Incredible Hulk. Although the late William Hurt previously portrayed the character, Harrison Ford took on the recast role in the new film. After appearances in films such as Captain America: Civil War, Ross has proven himself to be a stern, military-minded individual who has a number of complex issues with superheroes and their powers.
The mystery of the Red Hulk’s identity in the comics has played out over many issues, but this appears to have been removed from the film, leading directly to questions about how Ross could become the Red Hulk. In the comics, this was a change he decided on himself. Ross wished to be able to go hand-to-hand with the Hulk and participated in his transformation into the iconic villain and one of Hulk’s archenemies. However, despite the possibility of an adaptation for the MCU, new details suggest that this origin may not be followed in the new film.
Captain America: Brave New World Trailer Hints at a Big Change to Red Hulk’s Origin
Red Hulk’s origin will diverge significantly from the comics
A new image from the latest trailer for Brave new world provides a disturbing hint about the character’s trajectory in the film. In a dark room, along with all kinds of pictures and articles posted, a message is engraved on the wall: “redefine Ross, redefine America.” While the exact meaning of this can be speculated, it seems likely based on his phrasing that Ross’s transformation into the Red Hulk is not an action taken by Ross himself, but a political move carried out by someone who opposes him. There is one main candidate for this: The Leader.
The Leader was introduced in The Incredible Hulk as Samuel Sterns, and is confirmed to appear in the new film, despite barely appearing in any marketing. As one of the Hulk’s most prominent villains in comics Many expect to see the Leader pulling the strings behind the curtain. Having the villain behind Ross’ transformation into Red Hulk could be an excellent way to do this. It’s clear from the trailer that Ross’s transformation is very public, and how it impacts the American people will certainly be an integral part of the story.
How the leader could create the Red Hulk
Samuel Sterns will likely be behind the creation of the iconic villain
In The Incredible HulkSamuel Sterns acquired some of Bruce Banner’s blood. He used it for experiments and even infected him in a way that has yet to be seen on screen. Examining what Sterns did with that blood and his experiments will certainly be an important part of the new film’s story. Whatever the MCU movie’s hidden villain’s plans, he’s spent over a decade in the MCU working out the science of the Hulk’s blood and finding a way to weaponize it to achieve his goals.
Ross could be a willing participant in this, or his transformation could be against his will. Either way, it would demonstrate the danger of Sterns, and – if the “Reboot Ross“The panel of evidence really proves to be his – to show his goals. His political goals are certainly related to the destruction of Ross, and turning the president into a violent beast in this way will likely play a major role in that. See what else Sterns does with his science and the Hulk’s blood will likely also contribute to the film’s story in terrifying ways.
Marvel doesn’t always feel the need to be strict with its comics canon, and that’s often to the credit of many of its projects.. Changing Ross’s transformation into the Red Hulk into a story that better suits the modern climate and state of the MCU makes sense. As Captain America: Brave New World gets closer to release, additional details on the villain and his plan will likely become more available. Whatever the case, the Leader is sure to be a terrifying and terrifying force in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
