The MCU’s Latest Spider-Man Trailer Secretly Suggested Peter Parker Is More Powerful Than You Realize

Your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man
is ready to present a new version of Spider-Man to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU)

but a brief moment in the trailer suggests this could be one of the most powerful versions of the hero yet. As the MCU expands its TV and animation offerings, it’s exciting to see versions of familiar heroes appearing in alternate settings. One of the MCU’s first TV shows, What If…? already provides a set of changing stories that see the heroes in strange settings, but Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man is ready to do something different with a new version of the Web Slinger for younger audiences.

And while some actors are expected to reprise their roles as the voices of these animated characters, including Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio, who will voice Daredevil and the Kingpin, respectively, Peter Parker’s version is distinctly different. The show was initially expected to be an origin story for Tom Holland’s Peter Parker, but considering the appearance of villains who first met Holland’s Spider-Man in Spider-Man: No Way Homethe story will feature a clearly distinct timeline in the MCU. But, this version of the hero could already be configuring itself as one of the most powerful versions to date.

Spider-Man’s Brick Scene in His Friendly Neighborhood Shows Peter’s Incredible Strength

Peter Parker has incredible strength and control

While the teaser for Marvel’s upcoming Disney+ projects in late 2024 and 2025 provides a small glimpse at the new stories, there is a quick scene introducing Spider-Man that suggests he is incredibly powerfuland already has a lot of self-control, despite her recent transformation. While fighting a young rival, Spidey manages to grab a brick from above and use his web to quickly pull the brick towards his enemy’s head. This knocks out your opponent, but doesn’t appear to cause any more significant damage.

At the same time, Spidey doesn’t seem too worried about any serious damage being done. But Peter Parker is not a killer and he is not a ruthless vigilante. He does not intend to harm and maim his enemies, instead choosing to detain them and envelop them in a web ready for the police to collect them later. So, the fact that he can pull a brick at someone’s head and be sure that the force applied was enough to knock him down, without leaving him more injured, indicates his incredible self-control over your powers.

This reaffirms that Spider-Man should be considered one of the strongest heroes in the MCU

The MCU’s Spider-Man is incredibly powerful

While it’s easy to forget that the teenage superhero has strength that can easily overwhelm incredibly experienced fighters like the Winter Soldier, the fact is that he’s one of the MCU’s most powerful heroes. Yes, his skills are less refined and he has a lot to learn before he can take on world-class villains like Thanos without backup, but his strength, his self-control, his spider-senses and everything else make him one of the most formidable figures in the entire superhero universe.

While fighting heroes like Captain America, Peter was at a disadvantage because these legendary heroes had decades of experience and had literally fought in wars. Meanwhile, Peter is just a kid from Queens who was bitten by a radioactive spider. His powers and confidence in those powers continue to grow with each new challenge, and as he gains this valuable experience in the field, he becomes one of the most powerful heroes of all time. AND Your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man is set to provide a whole new angle to watch these powers grow and expand as Peter develops his new gifts.
