The MCU Just Introduced the Character Who I Hope Still Knows Spider-Man’s Secret Identity After No Way Home

I think Marvel Studios just introduced the only MCU character who still knows who Peter Parker is after the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home. Tom Holland’s Peter Parker has had a tumultuous journey in the MCU since his debut, culminating in everyone in the universe forgetting about him by the end of Spider-Man: No Way Home. We don’t know what the future holds for Peter Parker after No way homebut I think he could team up with one of the MCU’s most powerful characters in the next Marvel Studios film. Spider-Man 4.

Spider-Man: No Way Home ended with Doctor Strange completing his original spell to make everyone forget Peter Parker’s identity, sending the multiversal villains and Spider-Men home but leaving Tom Holland’s Peter Parker alone in the world. The Phase 4 film ended with Parker making a new Spider-Man costume and continuing his adventures as an unsung hero. I loved seeing theories about which plot Spider-Man 4 could go on, but Marvel Studios has a big problem to overcome before presenting any story for Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man.

Death must still know Peter Parker’s identity after Spider-Man: No Way Home

Aubrey Plaza Debuted as Death in Agatha All Along

Death in a Green Cloak in 1700 in Agatha All Along

Agatha all the time has quickly become one of my favorite Marvel Studios projects since the franchise’s inception, and that’s due, in part, to the introduction of Aubrey Plaza as the MCU’s version of Death. Some of my favorite moments in Agatha all the time featured Death, particularly scenes in which Death cut a tear in the fabric of reality to exit the Witch’s Road and showing his true face to Billy Maximoff after the death of Agatha Harkness. As an abstract entity and a being beyond petty spells, I have no doubt that Death still knows Peter Parker.

The idea that Death could still know Peter Parker’s true identity means she could be crucial to his evolution in the MCU after Spider-Man: No Way Home. Despite being a terrifying and all-powerful figure, Death has shown some of his more vulnerable and supportive sides in Agatha all the timealsoespecially during moments shared with Agatha Harkness’ son, Nicholas Scratch. Death would be a very powerful ally for Peter Parker in Spider-Man 4perhaps taking on the mentor role previously held by Iron Man, Mysterio and Doctor Strange.

How MCU Death and Spider-Man Could Cross Over in the MCU After No Way Home

Death could appear in the MCU’s Spider-Man 4

Although Aubrey Plaza has not yet been confirmed to return to the MCU as Death, I think it is very likely that she will show her face again, especially after the death of Agatha Harkness. Death no longer has a romantic connection to Kathryn Hahn’s witch, so she’s free to appear alongside other MCU heroesand I think Peter Parker’s Spider-Man would be an excellent choice. Spider-Man 4 is scheduled to be released shortly after Avengers: Judgment Day in 2026, and I think this would be a great place for Death to return.

There has also been speculation that the next Marvel Studios film Spider-Man the trilogy could introduce a new version of Spider-Man to the MCU, perhaps even Miles Morales. If this follows the Marvel Comics narrative, it could culminate in the death of Tom Holland’s Peter Parker, which would certainly constitute an appearance in The Death of Aubrey Plaza. While I would be very excited to see Tom Holland depart the MCU, I would be very happy to see Death returnespecially if she gets the chance to show off more of her impressive assets.

Spider-Man meeting death would adapt parts of Marvel’s own comics

Spider-Man and Death had an adventure in Marvel Comics in 2016

Spider-Man and Lady Death in Marvel Comics

Although Lady Death didn’t meet Peter Parker’s Spider-Man in Marvel Comics, Marvel Studios could still adapt a Spider-Man story in the MCU to bring Peter Parker and Death together. In 2016 Dead No More: Conspiracy of the Clones plot, Lady Death takes the form of Marlo Chandler, who meets Ben Reilly, a clone of Peter Parker, after he is resurrected and begins operating as the villainous Jackal.. I’d love to see a storyline like this adapted for the MCU, perhaps killing off Peter Parker and bringing him back as a twisted version of himself.

Lady Death actually teams up with Ben Reilly during Not Dead Anymoreattracted to him because of his constant resurrections. Peter Parker has already died in the MCU, when he was the victim of Thanos’ snap with the Infinity Stones in Avengers: Infinity War. Him being brought back and the magnitude of Doctor Strange’s memory-wiping spell made me think he could already be on Death’s radar in the MCU. If Spider-Man 4 Tom Holland’s Spider-Man partners with Death, I think the film could be one of the most spectacular and exciting films in the MCU yet.

Spider-Man: Homecoming 4 is the first sequel in the MCU’s Spider-Man trilogy, starring Tom Holland as the titular wall-crawler. After erasing his identity from the public’s memory in Spider-Man: No Way Home, Peter Parker continues his crime-fighting adventures without the help of Iron Man’s technology or the support of his former allies.
