Warning! This article contains spoilers for Agatha All Along Episode 1
I never thought the MCU would break the one rule that it just destroyed in the first episode of Agatha all along. The latest installment of the MCU has landed on Disney+, with Agatha all along Being the last production that is MCU canon until now Captain America: Brave New World was released in February 2025. After two episodes, it’s already clear that the show is following in the footsteps of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness By capitalizing on the horror inherent in the occult, while trailer footage suggests that there is much more where this came from.
The horror elements don’t go so far as to exclude a younger MCU audience, however, opting for jump scares from scary witches instead of dealing in gore or body horror. While this helps ensure that Agatha all along Considers the television equivalent of a PG-13 rating inherent in most MCU productions (save for Deadpool & Wolverine and a few shows), it also pushes boundaries in other ways. Although this particular example shocked me, I am at least optimistic about the fact that it is a brazen effort to break with convention.
The MCU has only shown male nudity before its latest release
Oddly enough, each instance occurred exclusively in the Thor films
Nudity in the MCU is exceptionally rare—not to mention mostly unwarranted—and has only occurred a handful of times. by the way All three examples have happened in Thor movies. Furthermore, every example of novelty in the MCU thus far has included male characters. This is likely due to a somewhat problematic convention that Male nudity is seen as less”Mature“Like female nude – and by recalling every example in the Thor movies, it’s clear to see that these are all played for laughs.

Thor: Love and Thunder |

These examples all fall within the parameters of PG-13 restrictions, which specifically state that no nudity can be sexualized. Given the scenes were all played for laughs — with Selvig’s scene being a standout moment of levity in an otherwise relatively bleak movie — they were allowed under the guidelines. Agatha all along has now added to the list, But became the first to do so in the MCU’s 16-year history with a woman.
Agatha all along very much breaks the MCU’s female nudity rule
Agatha brazenly breaks established conventions around female nudity
The first example of female nudity in the MCU was in the first episode of Agatha all along. It took place right after Agatha was released from Wanda’s hex by Tin and stripped off the various guys she sported over WandaVision. back to reality Agatha marches across the street to John Collins – known as Herb in the Westview hex – while Stark baresPrompting shocked reactions from John and other Westview residents. Agatha, meanwhile, is shameless in her nudity and shrugs off Herb’s attempts to cover her up.
Agatha’s hair and the scenery help cover her modesty, though her march back to her house officially adds to the list of nude bath scenes in the MCU. The scene was hilarious but also a major demonstration of Agatha’s strength of characterDepicted how little she cares about societal expectations and their notions of modesty. This was also a thematically significant image, because witches in history are often depicted as naked in the artist’s attempt to portray their mania and unconventional practices.
Agatha All Along’s rule break is a great way to show how different it will be
Agatha all along is trailblazing a new approach in the MCU
This is a telltale sign of what to expect Agatha all along. In a single episode, it shows its hand with a kind of comedy that will be no-holds-barred (within the confines of its PG-13 rating) with a trail-blazing approach. I’m not suggesting that any inclusion of novelty in the MCU is something that should be automatically praised, however Agatha all along Breaking with conventions by showing that female nudity can be tasteful, humorous and not inherently sexual is at least worth noting.
I’m sure Agatha’s sassy attitude and humor will soon cement her as one of the MCU’s unexpected fan-favorite characters.
Between that and his horror scenes, Agatha all along is shaping up to be a breath of fresh air in the MCU. Early reviews for Agatha all along have been mostly positive, although detractors work to justify its existence, because it focuses on a coven of lesser-known characters in a climate that sees the MCU criticized for being overstaffed. If the first two episodes of Agatha all along There’s no sign, however, that I’m sure Agatha’s sassy attitude and humor will soon cement her as one of the MCU’s unexpected fan-favorite characters.
