Sushi Glory Hole
2024
The Lonely Island's unexpected return to Saturday Night Live after six years of absence, it's still as funny as ever. In some ways, "Sushi Glory Hole" is reminiscent of the classic "The Lonely Island," poking fun at corporate culture like "Like A Boss" with some '80s flair like "Dick in a Box." However, Sushi Glory Hole is a little more surreal than the old Lonely Island songs.. While some of their older hits take a common premise to comedic extremes, there's nothing normal about "Sushi Glory Hole" to begin with. If The Lonely Island has a few more surprises in store in the near future, they could get even weirder.

Threw him to the ground
2011
"Threw It On the Ground" showcases The Lonely Island's unique talent for parodying barely existing musical genres. In this case, "Threw It On the Ground" pokes fun at hip-hop with an anti-establishment message that doesn't quite understand what it's about. The Lonely Island will not allow musicians to get away with adopting a social movement stance without making any commitments. However, “Threw It On the Ground” is not only about music. We are talking about those who rebel against some vague “system”. "Happy Birthday Earth" marks the moment when this sketch gleefully derails.

cum in my pants
2009
Many of The Lonely Island's best songs are filled with contrasts between the music and the lyrics. Although "Jizz in My Pants" looks and sounds like a club hit made for dancing, the lyrics are ridiculously pretentious. The video is filled with similar contrasts. The bright lights of the club give way to a competition between Andy Samberg and Jorma Taccone to see who can make the funniest face to the relentless chorus of the song's title. The whole idea is crude, but some of the best lines in "Jizz In My Pants" are generic one-off jokes.for example, when Jorma says she will pay with a check at the grocery store.

Jose and Mark
2019
The Unauthorized Experience of the Bash Brothers is a half-hour Netflix special of The Lonely Island about Jose Canseco and Mark McGuire in the 1980s. This is paid as "visual poem" and the title lends some pomposity to what is essentially a visual concept album. The special offer is best enjoyed as a whole. If there's a standout song that can be listened to out of context, it's "José and Mark." which represents the two Bash brothers. "Jose and Mark" highlights the insecurities and paranoia of the two characters, which they mask behind their famous egos.

I'm on a boat
2009
The Lonely Island often do their best work when they have a big star to collaborate with, and T-Pain buys into the "I'm on a boat" joke. The song is a parody of rap that flaunts obscene wealth.and fans who sing along despite having no belief system. "I'm on a Boat" gives some regular Joes a free boat ride won from a box of cereal and they immediately start acting like T-Pain. They seem to believe that simply being on a boat is the ultimate manifestation of wealth, so they don't need to talk about anything else throughout the entire song.

Boombox
2010
The Strokes frontman Julian Casablancas used his vocals on "Boombox" and gave the ridiculous song a lot of legitimacy. Few singers could pronounce lines like “everyone was wearing fingerless gloves” sounds so cool. What's important to "Boombox's" appeal is that Casablancas takes it completely seriously, because the song itself is about the transformative power of music. There are also repeated references to boiled goose for no apparent reason.. This is the sort of joke that The Lonely Island use in many of their songs where there is a random distraction. This works especially well in Boombox.

Finest Girl (Bin Laden Song)
2016
Pop Star: Never Stop, Never Stop was a box office failure, but remains one of the funniest comedy films of the last decade and has developed a cult following. pop star Andy Samberg plays Conner4Real, an untalented musician with a huge ego, created as a parody of several different artists. Just a few songs in pop star reach the heights that the Lonely Island is capable ofbut the rest of the film is funny enough to make up for it. “Finest Girl” is a standout hit and shows how The Lonely Island knows how to commit.

I just had sex
2010
There are countless rap songs about sex, but very few talk about it with the childish glee of "I Just Had Sex." Akon is the perfect guest in I Just Had Sex and he puts his heart and soul into it. The music video also features a fun cameo from John McEnroe, as well as Jessica Alba and Blake Lively playing two very frustrated and upset women. I Just Had Sex piles so many punchlines on top of each other that it's easy to miss gems like “I think she might be racist.” "I Just Had Sex" is The Lonely Island's most viewed video on YouTube and the most popular song on Spotify.

Curse
2013
Not all The Lonely Island digital shorts Saturday Night Live there are songs, although most big hits have them too. The Grudge wouldn't work without the musical element, but it's a great sketch that shows how The Lonely Island can make you laugh without the singing. Jon Hamm is as funny as ever playing a mysterious saxophonist named Sergio. His selfless performance is so enjoyable that the sketch is able to convey its flair and still be funny. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that the baby will be none other than Sergio, but Hamm's gyrating hips and sparkling saxophone are still fun.

Like a boss
2009
"Like a Boss" stars Seth Rogen as the straight man, but also features hilarious cameos from Bill Hader and a giant fish. The song is an exposé of a certain corporate mentality that treats business like an extreme sport to mask the silent tragedy of corruption. Before Andy Samberg's character jumps out of a window into a bizarre location, Like a Boss has several moments of painful satire.like a sharp transition from "swallow sadness" To “send several faxes.” It's oddly similar to a sketch that ends with the main character turning into a plane and bombing the Kremlin. "Like a Boss" has such a fast pace that both jokes are possible.

Jack Sparrow
2011
Michael Bolton's presence in the booming club scene is already funny, but Jack Sparrow doesn't like obvious jokes.. Instead of showing Bolton a way out of his comfort zone while the boys of the Lonely Island play the role of comedian, "Jack Sparrow" inverts this pattern with Bolton as the wildcard. His incredible vocal abilities make him counter-intuitive Pirates of the Caribbean movies are even funnier. 'Jack Sparrow' displays acute self-awareness when Bolton breaks down "Now let's get back to the good part" before I say it again Pirates movies.

Dick in a box
2006
The Lonely Island wrote some great songs with Justin Timberlake. He seems to enjoy his sense of humor even more than other artists they use in their songs. Dick in the Box was their first collaboration and it immediately showed them striking comedy gold together. The "Flock of Seagulls" aesthetic and ridiculous premise do a lot of the heavy lifting, but "Dick in a Box" has a few bonus jokes. Maya Rudolph gets fucked "Thank you" Justin Timberlake's step-by-step guide is two things that never fail to be funny.

Shooting, also known as Dear Sister
2007
The best non-musical sketch on The Lonely Island is Saturday Night Live A classic and surprisingly prophetic comedy. The surreal humor of The Shooting Known as Dear Sister shatters all norms of life. SNL sketch, and the very idea of comedy. There is no typical production and zest in “Shooting”. Instead, there is a climax without scenery that repeats itself over and over again. The sketch is a reference to the series' second season finale. OKbut it's not the parody that makes it funny. Created in the early days of YouTube, “Execution” seemed to predict Internet humor.

Lazy Sunday
2005
The Lonely Island were together for several years before joining. Saturday Night Live. "Lazy Sunday" was one of their first big hits on the show. which announced their arrival and set the tone for one of the best seasons SNL. It's not as complex as some of The Lonely Island's later work, but it's a perfect showcase of what makes the band unique. The juxtaposition of the musical mood and the ordinariness of the subject is the first part of the joke, as in many of The Lonely Island's hits. The extremely serious facial expressions of Andy Samberg and Chris Parnell do the rest.

Lover mother
2011
"A Mother's Love" is a direct sequel to "Wild in a Box." meeting Andy Samberg and Justin Timberlake's '80s-inspired singers after their release from prison. The idea of the song is fun from the start, but it's the devotion of the two characters that makes it truly special. They don't think for a second that what they're doing might be weird, and they even encourage each other in the weirdest ways. Justin Timberlake “we are so cool and caring” summarizes his feelings. “Mistress” shows how good The Lonely Island is at finding new and fun ways to repeat itself.
"Saturday Night Live" is the longest-running comedy-satire show on television, premiering in 1975.
