The Jinn of Wisdom [EXCLUSIVE]

A reimagining of the classic Arabic fable, Aladdin 3477: The Jinn of Wisdom will be available on VOD on January 3, 2025. The film is the directorial debut of Matt Busch, acclaimed for his Star Wars, Lord of the Ringsand Indiana Jones art. Busch is also the writer of the script, with Aladdin 3477 serving as the first of three films in his magnum opus trilogy.

In his director’s statement, Busch says he was inspired by the work of Steven Spielberg and George Lucas and has always been obsessed with fantasy stories. “I knew that if my trilogy of science fiction films ever happened, I would have to step back and create them independently,” he admits. “Through the arduous amount of work, 12-year-old me was beaming all the time, creating the kind of films I used to camp out in line for.” Check out the trailer for a look at Busch’s epic new adventure, and be sure to watch the film when it’s released. As reflected in its title, Aladdin 3477: The Jinn of Wisdom takes place years ahead of its time. The film follows Erik Steele as Aladdin, a “smart orphan with dreams of rising to the elite class.” He has his eye on Princess Kamala of India (Christi Perovski) and is drawn into a quest to find a legendary lamp. Alongside him is Oomi (Lin Zy), a homeless girl “whose presence inadvertently thwarts all of Aladdin’s plans” and an enigmatic ancient sage known as “The Jinn of Wisdom” (Aaron Golematis).

Jon Rick, Tony Miello, Brian Dalling, Jerry Hayes, Irfan Sheikh, Robert Shannon and Sydney Solomon make up the rest of the main cast. Aladdin 3477: The Jinn of Wisdom is executive produced by Matthew Helderman, Luke Taylor, Nikki Stier Justice, Jessica Soo, Dave Todd and Peter Mayhew, and features music by Celldweller. Available to watch in English, Hindi, Cantonese, Thai and Robot, the film has a running time of 118 minutes.
