The First Descendant confirms two new heroes for Season 2

The first descendant is not as popular as it was before and the developer Nexon is making it clear it has plans to change things. After a brief period in the spotlight following a successful launch, excitement surrounding the Unreal Engine 5 looter-shooter has waned as players become increasingly frustrated with the studio’s lack of communication. Additionally, it’s been a while since news about future content has been shared, leaving many wondering what ideas Nexon has in mind for its game.

Responding to a plethora of comments on his blog, Nexon made it clear that it is listening to player feedback, going so far as to confirm that The first descendantSeason 2 will introduce two new playable characters. This may be exciting, but Nexon has gone further by locking in a new Ultimate Descendant that is also planned to be released in Season 2; Going forward, the studio has made it clear that it wants to offer a more diverse range of heroes and items for players to work with. A range of appearance options will also be added to make character customization easier.

First Descendant Needs a Better Story

These characters should be good for something

While The first descendantThe mechanics are decent at providing the satisfying progression needed for a looter shooter, the experience lacks flavor. Nexon admitted as much by recognizing that players are demanding more story content that provides some insight into the cast of characters, including information about their backstories and motivations. The studio has confirmed that it is designing future content with this in mind as it moves away from the overarching plot to provide more narrative moments focused on your characters.

That’s not to say gameplay will remain unchanged, as Nexon also has some major plans for how the community plays. The first descendant. It’s already working on new end-game content to provide veterans with an extra challenge, while also reworking initial missions to be more flexible for new players. Perhaps most exciting is the addition of a “Target Reward” system that doubles as a mercy timergiving players a guaranteed chance to grab loot they’ve been eyeing if they’ve missed it one too many times.

I firmly believe that if a developer wants the public to care about a live service game, they must provide a reason to actually dedicate time rather than money. I think Nexon is taking some smart steps: The addition of “Target Rewards” will go a long way in ensuring that players are not left feeling like they are working for nothing. As for the story, I don’t care about the game’s plot or characters, but for those who connected with it, I’m happy and I hope you get the content you’re looking for.
