Warning! Contains spoilers for Detective Comics #1088!
One major Batman Rogue just irrevocably altered life in the DC Universe – by finding a cure for death itself. Death is what gave birth to Batman, and it’s something he’s been fighting against ever since, but now, Talia al Ghul has seemingly solved this problem forever, by reverse manufacturing the infamous Lazarus technology.
The cure for death is revealed in Detective Comics #1088’s backup history, “golden child” – Written by Dan Watters, with art by Christopher Mitten. In the story, Talia experiments on Arsen Orgham and manages to revive him with an ingenious twist on the Lazarus waters that her father often used.
This is a major feat for Talia and it completely changes the world of the DCU. Before, people had to use a loose pit in order to revive, and they had to use it almost immediately after death; With Talia’s new system, it seems almost anyone can be revived.

Talia’s new Lazarus waters have the potential to be much more powerful than the pits ever were.
The Lazar Fitm have long been a part of Batman Study. Ra’s al Ghul uses them most often, but other people have used them as well. Batman famously used a Lazarus Pit, along with several other ingredients, to revive Damian Wayne after his death, and Talia al Ghul infamously used a Lazarus Pit to bring Jason fully back to life. Still, the pits always have major drawbacks, such as temporarily driving someone insane after they first exit the pit. Another major drawback was the Lazarus Pit was mostly unable to revive people if they had been dead for too long.
The laser pits were all destroyed in the events of Lazarus planetAnd since then, it seems to just be accepted that death is a permanent part of the DC Universe now. But this has completely changed, aHis waist seemed to have perfected the Lazarus watersOr at least got close to it. With Talia’s new technology, she is perfectly capable of reviving people, even if they have been dead for long periods of time. Arzen was dead for at least a few days, and she brought him back with ease. Talley’s new Lazarus waters have the potential to be much more powerful than the Pits ever were.
Tali’s evolution from her father’s Lazarus technology is a radical development for the DC Universe, and it may be here to stay.
Talia’s Eleazar waters are much stronger than her father’s grave
Detective Comics #1088 – Written by Ram V; Art by Guillem March; Color by Luis Guerrero; Lettering by Ariana Maher
Talia’s evolution from her father’s Lazarus technology is a radical development for the DC Universe, and it may be here to stay. Talley’s new Lazarus waters are in no danger of being destroyed, unlike the Lazarus pits. It seems that the madness that usually occurs when someone returns is also reduced, because Arzen was only mad for a few seconds, unlike the few minutes that Ra’s often go through. Now the next time someone close to Batman die, what is blind will happen, He just might have a solution for that with Talia al Ghul’s brand new Lazarus waters.
