America’s Good Talent Season 19 contestant Emily Gold, who competed in the quarterfinals as part of the Los Osos High School dance team, tragically died at the age of 17. According to the San Bernardino Coroner’s Office, by TermEmily died by suicide on September 13th. The tragedy comes about a month after her and Los Osos’ last appearance On America’s Good Talent. Not much information is known at this time, although it is assumed that a full autopsy will take place to give investigators a better understanding of the situation.
Los Osos Varsity Dance Posted a tribute to Emily on their Instagram page. They called the 17-year-old a “Beautiful, kind and good“Man who embodies all the values that the team vows to instill in everyoneFrom strength and kindness to being compassionate and humble. The message ended by saying they miss you”More than words can ever express.” In the caption of the Instagram post, they thanked their supporters for sending condolences and asked for “Thoughts and prayers.” In the Instagram carousel, they included multiple videos showing Emily and the team smiling, laughing and enjoying each other’s company.
A GoFundMe page called “Community support for the Gold family’s loss“Was created to raise money for Emily’s family so they can handle expenses during this difficult time as they mourn the loss of their daughter. Jeanette FierroWho started the fundraising, set a goal of 60,000 dollars. As of this writing, Over $38,000 was raised from almost 600 individual donations.

Emily has always embodied every aspect of our core team values through her strength, commitment, kindness, compassion and the most humble heart. She will be remembered as a leader, role model, friend and sister to her teammates.

Emily’s death is a huge loss for the Los Osos dance team, Los Osos High School and Rancho Cucamonga, California. America’s Good Talent Season 19 is still airing. There are only two episodes left to air in the next two weeks.

This gives NBC and the AGT Producers the opportunity to honor Emily on the TV show. If that happens, it’s unclear if host Terry Crews and the judges will pay their respects during the live show. Another option is that the producers could add a tag that is added to the end of the episode to honor Emily.

Hopefully, the GoFundMe set up for Emily’s family not only passes but surpasses its goal of $60,000. Her family and friends are in mourning, and they don’t need the added burden of paying for a funeral and all the other expenses they will be faced with.
