The boys
Season 5 adds a new actor to its cast, with a Stranger things Star joining as a new supe. Created by Eric Kripke, Prime Video’s hit superhero parody show returned for Season 4 earlier this year, continuing Billy Butcher’s (Karl Urban) quest for revenge against Homelander (Anthony Starr) and Vogt. The boys Season 5 is now confirmed to bring the show to an end, with a roster of new and old Supes for the final episodes as Homelander’s power grows.
Variety Now reports that actor Mason Dye has moved on The boys Season 5 as Bombsight. Although details about the character have not yet been released, Bombsight was mentioned in season 4 as a Supe who appeared in “The Curse of Fu Manchu,” a 1950s Vought superhero movie. As for where audiences will have seen Dye before, the actor recently appeared in Stranger things Season 4 as Jason Carver, a Hawkins High basketball star and supporting antagonist, but he also has roles in Flowers in the attic (2014) and Truth or dare (2017).
Variety Also mentioned in the report that Bombsight could potentially appear in the announcement The boys prequel spinoff, Vote risingAlthough Prime Video would not confirm this. The spinoff is set to star Jensen Ackles’ Soldier Boy and Aya Cash’s Stormfront in a story that takes place in the 1950s.
What the casting means for Stranger Things Season 5
How is Bombsight alive?
Dye joins actor Daveed Diggs as a newcomer to The boys‘ cast for season 5, although no details have yet been revealed about who Diggs will play. Very little is known about Bombsight as a character beyond the main period in which he was active. It is also not clear if Bombsight’s role in season 5 will be through flashbacks or if he will be reawakened in the modern era. Bombsight’s history with Vought, however, may suggest that, should he appear in the present day storyline, he may end up serving as an antagonist.

If Bombsight were to appear during the modern storyline, it certainly wouldn’t be without precedent. Soldier Boy, after all, was active in the 1950s, but it looks like he hasn’t aged a day in the 2020s storyline. Soldier Boy’s powers basically keep him from aging, and it’s possible that Bombsight has similar abilities. It is also possible, however, that Bombsight has been cryogenically frozen since the 50sJust like Soldier Boy is at the end of The boys Season 4.
Our take on Bombsight’s introduction in The Boys season 5
Paint could make Bombsight a great villain
One of the most fun aspects of each new season of The boys is the introduction of new Supes. The new Supes often have truly unique powers, weaknesses and wits, such as Sister Sage (Susan Heyward), who can basically only turn off her genius brain by giving herself a lobotomy. In addition to featuring what sounds like an explosive superpower, Bombsight is likely to be similarly complex in terms of his personality traits and worldview.
This was memorable in Stranger things Like Jason, a character that became easy to hate as new episodes of season 4 were released. If Bombsight ends up being a villain, Die certainly has a proven ability to be menacing. With both the DIY and Diggs castings recently announced, it’s possible that more casting announcements are on the way The boys Season 5 is on the way.
