The Boys Ending with Season 5 Gets Emotional Response and “Insane” Jack Quaid Tease

Jack Quaid reveals why he feels this way The boys concluding with season 5 is to the series' benefit, hinting at the chaos the final chapter will bring in the cast's darkest hour. Prime Video's dark superhero series saw Quaid's Hughie recruited into a group of vigilantes determined to take down the world's corrupt, highly corporate Supes. The boys Season 4 ended with Antony Starr's Homelander in complete control of the US government and Karl Urban's Billy Butcher seemingly being controlled by his Kessler persona, leaving the team fractured, incarcerated and on the run.

While The boys season 5 continues to film, Quaid spoke about the show's final chapter to The Hollywood Reporterteasing what was in store for the cast and audience. Quaid stated that he was accepting that season 5 would be the lastrevealing that he was not only relieved that showrunner Eric Kripke was able to wrap up the story on his own terms, but also that he had been aware of it for some time:

I think it's good that we end with season 5 because we're ending it on our own terms. It's not like someone canceled us and we were trying to quickly make a season that felt final. That was always the showrunner's intention to end with five seasons, and I've actually known that for a while and tried to keep my mouth shut about it.

Furthermore, although Quaid avoided giving any hint about The boysIn the final chapter's story, he teased what he considered insane and potentially fatal to the main cast of characters. He, however, also noted that he is "excited"to see what comes of the final season, he indicated he may not know everything showrunner Eric Kripke has planned. Check out Quaid's response below:

Season 5 of The Boys is going to be crazy. It will be very confusing. I don't know, I just keep thinking that a lot of us will probably die. It's going to be crazy and I'm excited to see what it entails.

What Quaid's Tease Reveals About The Boys Season 5

A definitive end for the team could mean a bloodbath that few will walk away from

With Quaid's latest provocation, things are getting darker for the main cast of The boys going into season 5. With Butcher on his own murderous mission, Starlight (Erin Moriarty) was left as the only member of the team outside of Homelander's internment camps. As such, Hughie and the rest of the group could already be in for a harrowing scenario when Season 5 begins.

However, with Quaid teasing a definitive ending to The boys cast story that has been defined for some time, it seems that their arcs will find a conclusion within the seriesinstead of being expanded into one of the The boys'lots of spin-offs. In the comic book source material, Hughie and Starlight are the team's only survivors. While the series may not be a completely faithful retelling of the comics, it does hint at a brutal end for the main cast if it stays the course.

Our thoughts on Quaid's The Boys season 5 tease

The series had the chance to tell a rewarding story

It's no secret that the current era of streaming has often brought audiences some dissatisfaction with the way some television series ended. Despite their popularity, some shows were ended suddenly and unceremoniously, either midway through their run or before they could attract an audience.

As such, although Quaid's provocation to The boys While Season 5 may be somewhat foreboding for its main cast, many may be relieved to know that the series is able to come to an end on Kripke's terms. Quaid's tips may reveal that The boys will be equally chaotic and diabolical until the final moments, but audiences can at least hope for a proper conclusion.
