Cuoco has another chance to return as Penny

Since Georgie and Mandy’s first wedding takes place before The Big Bang Theory, Penny cannot be involved in it. The events of the Young Sheldon The sequence precedes her meeting Leonard and Sheldon for the first time. Fortunately, Chuck Lorre and his team are developing a new franchise expansion series that will follow the nerd-centric sitcom. The third spinoff will star Stuart, Denise and Bert, but Cuoco has already expressed her desire to appear in The Big Bang Theory sequence.

While it’s highly unlikely that Penny will just be a recurring character in the new series, a one-time appearance could offer insight into what life has been like for her and Leonard since The Big Bang Theory ended. In addition to possibly solving the mystery of Leonard is dead, it could also justify his divisive ultimate fate in the nerd-centric sitcom. At this point, this is the best Lorre and her team can do to make up for how they handled Penny’s pregnancy arc.
