IndustryThe best show currently airing on HBO has just been renewed for season 4. The series, created by Mickey Down and Conrad Kay, follows a group of young Londoners who work in and around the finance industry and how their demanding jobs impact their Personal life. Although it has flown under the radar since its premiere in 2020, Industry has earned a solid following over the years which has seen its third season produce the show’s best ratings yet. Still, it was unclear whether the show would return for a fourth season, especially as parent company Warner Bros. Discovery has cut costs and canceled many series and movies in recent years.
now, HBO has officially confirmed that Industry will return for season 4 after the show’s fate remained up in the air during its third season. The news comes ahead of the final two episodes of season 3 airing on the network. Regarding the renewal, Kay and Dawn said:
“We are beyond thrilled and grateful to HBO, the incredible team at Bad Wolf and our phenomenal cast and crew for their continued belief in the industry and for allowing us to grow as creators, writers and now directors while taking the show to new heights. Can’t wait to dive deeper and deliver the best season yet in season 4.”
Francesca Orsi, head of HBO drama series and films, also added:
“For three seasons, Industry has been unflinching in its examination of ambition and class, solidifying itself as a marquee HBO drama. Under Mickey and Conrad’s singular vision, this twisted, thrilling look at London finance has redefined the contemporary workplace show. We are so excited that viewers and critics have recognized season three as bigger and better than ever, buoyed by sublime performances from our unparalleled cast, we have no doubt that Mickey and Conrad, along with the amazing team under executive producer Jane Tranter at Bad Wolf and Executive producer Kathleen McCaffrey will take season four to even greater heights.
Why You Should Watch Industry (There’s Still Time To Catch Up)
It is a spiritual successor to succession (sort of)
Although it was uncertain, the events of Industry Season 3 seemed to indicate that the show might end when its final episode airs on September 29. Fortunately, that’s not the case. With eight episodes per season, it’s not a long watch and the series is immediately compelling thanks to central performances from Marisa Abela, Myha’la, Harry Lawter and Ken Leung.
Although some major characters have excelled ahead of Industry Season 3, the core cast remains solid, and the series has introduced a revolving slate of guest stars that keeps things interesting. In season 2, Jay Duplass appeared as Jesse Bloom, a cocky hedge fund manager who is involved with Myha’la’s Harper. Season 3 has perhaps the show’s biggest guest star yet, Mit Game of Thrones Alum Kit Harington starring as the uber-rich manchild Henry Mook, while Barry Star Sarah Goldberg joined as Petra, a ruthless hedge fund manager.
