The best dagger and staff build (equipment, skills and weapons)

With nearly 30 different weapon combinations available to players in Throne and FreedomThere are many different build options to suit every play style. At the start of the game, players choose a primary and secondary weapon which determines the abilities their character will have access to. While there are several builds that have become quite popular in the game, one of the most unique and exciting builds is the Dagger & Staff Build, known in-game as the Spellblade.

Best Weapons for Dagger and Staff Build

Unlock weapon mastery skills with daggers and staves

Before pursuing specific equipment, you should focus on unlocking the necessary weapon mastery skills. For your Daggers, you will also focus on skills from the intermediate and higher branches. First, unlock Silent Dash, followed by the following skills from the higher skill branch: Ranged Defense, Health Regeneration, Debuff Immunity, Mana Cost Efficiency, Reload Speed, and Master of Evasion. Best set of weapons and weapon characteristics

For this Dagger and Staff build, there are two specific weapons for hunting: the Umbramancer’s Staff, and The wicked thorns of Lequirus. This combo will get you to the end of the game, but you’ll need to fully power them up and unlock the right weapon traits for each one.

Weapon Mastery effects only apply to active skills of that specific weapon type (staff specializations apply to staff skills and dagger specializations apply to dagger skills). In PvP modes, always hold the weapon that provides the best defensive buffs from its Mastery effects, which is the dagger in this build. Actively switch to your team when you want to use ranged auto-attack. This doesn’t matter as much in PvE, So opt for the convenience of having your team equipped for ranged auto-attack.

Once you have your weapons and have maxed out their levels, you will need to focus on the weapons’ characteristics. For both your staff and your daggers, unlock the following three traits: Hit Chance, Heavy Hit Chance, and Critical Hit Chance. If you’re lucky, one of these traits will unlock when you first find or craft your weapon.

Once you manage to unlock all the correct features, upgrade characteristics to the highest level. Upgrading a trait requires you to find an item of the same type and with the same trait that you want to upgrade. After doing this, you can improve the feature of the “Enchanting Equipment” menu.

Skill rotations for dagger and staff construction

Start at a distance and then get closer

The skill rotation for building Dagger and Staff in Throne and Liberty.

When entering combat, start from a distance with your staff. Activate High Focus and follow up with a volley of Focused Fire Bombs and Inferno Wave, adding stacks of Burning to your target and anyone nearby. Finish your ranged rotation with Judgment Lightning followed by Chain Lightning, deal bonus damage to burning enemies, and get ready to get in close.

Use Inject Venom, Umbral Spirit and then teleport behind your target using Shadow Strikedealing 200% damage and inflicting Bind and Poison. Now that you are in range, apply damage using Cleaving Moonlight (twice) and with Brutal Incision. Finish with a Burning Smokescreen to reignite your targets and return to your starting point. Now you can start the rotation again from the top. Continue the rotation, applying Burning and Poison to your enemies until there are none left standing.

If you happen to find yourself lost and I need to escape quicklyyou have a few options available:

  • Use Burning Smokescreen to move out of range in any direction while leaving your enemies with a large decrease in movement speed.

  • Reactivate Shadow Strike (within 6 seconds of using it for the first time) to return to its original position when you first cast it.

  • Use Camouflage to break any bind/movement debuffs and turn invisible for 10 seconds so you can run away. The next sneak attack you make will automatically be a critical hit.

Remember to reactivate High Focus as soon as you can to keep its powerful buffs active. Once you master this build you will be able to face the toughest challenges Throne and Freedom has to offer.
