The Batman spinoff just created a perfect way to reverse the hero’s iconic tragedy with its Robin replacement

The penguin Episode 6 teases a famous adaptation of the DC Comics storyline, but with Oz Cobb replacing Batman and Victor Aguilar replacing Robin. The penguin Episode 6 follows Sofia Gigante and Oz Cobb as they form new alliances and prepare for the takeover of Gotham. With both criminals willing to do whatever it takes to get to the top, more deaths are inevitable. However, some sacrifices will need to be made, and both Frances and Victor appear to be in great danger as Sofia tries to get revenge on Oz.

Matt Reeves’ Batman the franchise is exceptionally realistic, but also quite faithful to the source material. Batman adapted several elements from Jeph Loeb’s book The Long Halloween and Frank Miller Batman: Year One. In the same way, The penguin adapts several aspects of Jeph Loeb’s work Black Victorywhere Oswald Cobbelpot climbs the ladder of crime, with Sofia Falcone, also known as The Executioner, as the main antagonist. What is more Black Victory, The penguin may be adapting an unexpected comic book plot – one that doesn’t originally feature the Penguin.

Penguin Episode 5 Teases a Death in the Family Adaptation

Sofia Falcone could kill Victor Aguilar just like the Joker killed Jason Todd

At the end of The penguin episode 6, Giant Sofia arrives at Oz’s hideout in Crown Point, wielding a crowbar. If Oz doesn’t return home in time, he could witness his worst nightmare come true when Sofia kills her loved ones and flees the crime scene. Sofia may be hesitant to kill Frances due to her reluctance to harm other women, as her decision to spare Eve Karlo’s life suggests. Therefore, Sofia is likely to kill Victor Aguilar in a very similar way to how the Joker killed Jason Todd in the comicsbeating him with a crowbar and leaving him for dead.

The adaptation of the penguin’s death in the family could be much more tragic than the comics

Victor Aguilar represents Oz’s last shred of empathy and kindness

Comic art: Jason Todd smiling as Robin in front of Batman holding his corpse.

In the comics, Batman is unable to protect Jason Todd from the Joker, and Jason is eventually resurrected as the villain “Red Hood”. Despite his grief, Batman continues to fight crime and recruits other Robins, notably Tim Drake and his own son, Damian Wayne. If Oz sidekick Victor Aguilar meets the same fate as Jason Todd in The penguinOz probably wouldn’t follow in Batman’s footsteps. Instead of, If Victor dies, Oz will likely lose what little kindness he has left in his heart and become a full-fledged villain. Unlike Batman, the Penguin does not have the ability to turn his pain into self-improvement.

The penguin has repeatedly portrayed Oz as someone willing to betray anyone around him if the situation demands it – everyone except Frances and Victor. By killing Victor, Sofia would confirm to Oz that loyalty is not worth the effort, and Victor would die without the chance to help his community or leave the criminal life he was forced to turn to. Considering that Jason Todd managed to come back to life in the comics, The penguinThe ultra-realistic setting does not allow any character to defy death.
