The Bachelorette Season 21’s Devin Strader is in damage control mode after Jenn Tran’s season finale, so He released now-deleted private text messages between him and Jen to try to tell his side of the story. During The Bachelorette Season 21 “After the Final Rose” episode, Jen Wayne as she reveals that Devin broke off their engagement about a month ago via phone call. She said he told her he didn’t love her anymore, and he never wanted to rely on her.

In a now-deleted Instagram story, which was screenshotted by X user @kimchik1tty, Devin Shared and then quickly deleted private text messages between him and Jenn. In the exchange, Jen asked why Devin wanted to talk to her in person, to which Devin responded, “I wanted to tell you all this in person because you deserve more than a phone call.” Furthermore, he wrote that he not only jumped things and He wanted to talk in personBut she “forced it out” from him.

In the texts, Jen said that Devin already looked like he was pretending and didn’t want to have a conversation, to which Devin replied, “Just last week Friday you said we should break up. You said that before.” Devin added that he really took it to heart because he had doubts about their entire relationship. He said neither of them were happy, and Jen didn’t deserve this. Jen replied that she knew she said she wanted to break up, “And I was emotionally charged when I said that and I obviously didn’t go through with it.”

Devin definitely shouldn’t have released private messages between him and Jen, and he thinks he realized that because he deleted them. He wanted to show that Jen was thinking about breaking up too, but that might backfire Jen tells Devin during The Bachelorette season 21 finale that it’s not that he changed his mind about their relationship, but what he did in the aftermath of their breakup that especially hurt you. This included him following Maria Georgas on Instagram, and clubbing with fellow contestant Jeremy Simon in New York City. There was no excuse for that.
Jenn also shared that Devin hid his feelings of doubt for two months while she poured everything into their relationship. It was evident that she was incredibly hurt by him because of the way she sobbed during the segment, including when the show aired their offer. Devin didn’t have much to say for himself in the finale, and releasing the text messages wasn’t the best way for him to tell his side of the story, especially since they didn’t address his behavior after the show. Hopefully, Devin will learn from his mistakes.
