Live action Batman the films have been a staple of the DCU timeline for decades. They have evolved through many tones and styles, from the campy 1960s film starring Adam West to Tim Burton’s gothic approach and, later, Christopher Nolan’s grittier, more realistic vision. Several talented actors have had the unique experience of bringing the world of Gotham to life in animated and live-action adaptations of Batman, demonstrating their versatility across all formats.

Adam West appeared in Batman: TAS Season 1, episode 18 “Beware the Gray Ghost”

Adam West, best known for his iconic portrayal of Batman in the campy 1960s TV series and film, appeared in Batman: The Animated Series after starring in a live-action Batman role for the first time. Rene Auberjonois, a versatile actor with several iconic roles, voiced Dr. March in Batman: The Animated Series. Dr. March is Kirk Langstrom’s father-in-law and a prominent zoologist specializing in bats. He is one of the first to theorize the possibility of a formula that could transform humans into bat-like creatures, planting the seeds before Kirk Langstrom actually developed the Batman formula. Auberjonois also appeared in Batman Forever as Dr. Burton, a doctor at Arkham Asylum who briefly cares for the Riddler after his defeat. Patrick Leahy voiced the Governor in Batman: TAS and appeared in five Batman films
