They come to understand each other through their dedication to their respective families. The guilt over their argument moments before is apparent in Anthony’s gaze, so much so that he doesn’t immediately realize the implications of his hand pushing against her breast.
Kate’s soft words also awaken feelings in Anthony’s heart because she is patient and understanding, even if your response to the bee sting seems exaggerated. Even though Anthony still plans to propose to Edwina despite loving Kate, the way she manages to calm him down so quickly proves their undeniable connection.

Penelope, the youngest and most powerful of BridgertonThe Featherington family, is another character who falls in love with her future husband first. His eyes are on Colin from the moment they meet, but he only recognizes his true potential years later. Colin only registers Penelope correctly in “How Bright the Moon” when she finally gives up on the two of them being together. Penelope accepts that Colin won’t love her, but she begs him to kiss her, fearing she will never receive one.

Lord Debling’s introduction opens up the possibility of Penelope finally getting married, but she only decides to accept the proposal because she is tired of waiting for Colin. Out of everything Bridgerton couples, Charlotte and George’s love story has more trials and tribulations than any other. King George’s hidden illness causes much conflict between the two, but Charlotte’s patience keeps them afloat. The two do not meet until the wedding day, but there is an immediate connection between them. George admits he fell in love with Charlotte when he sees her climb the garden wall on their wedding day, but their love really blossoms in the episode “Gardens in Bloom.”
While it’s obvious that the two love each other before this, it’s not until a pregnant Charlotte visits George and her restraints are removed that they truly become Bridgertonthe best romance. Despite his distorted sense of reality, George immediately falls into Charlotte’s arms when he is freed. Charlotte is understandably frustrated with his lack of communication, but she also doesn’t give up on him, which is why it’s so pertinent.
