The recent Pokémon Trading Card Game expansion set, Twilight Maskhas made a splash in online markets with some of its highly sought after rare cards. As part of the Scarlet and Violet sets for the Pokémon TCG, Twilight Mask Features many special rare illustrations showcasing beloved characters from the video game, including many Ogerpon mask variants, as well as some Tera-shaped characters. Even without familiarity with video games, however, this TCG set offers beautiful cards with some powerful attacks and lots of pokes that can be quite valuable.
Pokémon TCG: Scarlet and Violet – Mask of Twilight set officially released on May 24, 2024. Although the base set has 167 cards included, there are an additional 59 secret cards which are numbered above, including 11 Rare and Supporter cards with Special Illustration. These rarer versions are not only stunning in their complete artistry, but can be quite valuable to collectors and fans. Teal Ogerpon ex mask (190/167)
Ultra Rare
Teal Mask Ogerpon appeared on Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Although Ogerpon has several forms, the grass-like teal mask is one of the most popular, appearing on the list of most valuable cards three different times. There are two versions of this ex-special card in Twilight Mask defined, and this shows the character with a silver background.
This silver-backed former Ogerpon card isn’t as desirable as the other gold version in the set, but it’s still one of the most expensive cards in the set. This variation of the Teal Mask Ogerpon ex has a market value of $11.42 according to TCGPlayer. Unlike other versions of Pokémon, this card is also the most common, being just a “hyper rare”.

Hearthflame Ogerpon ex Mask (212/167)

As mentioned above, Ogerpon is one of the key figures to the DLC’s story. Pokémon: Scarlet and Violet video games and is known for equipping different masks that give her different strengths and abilities in battle. One of these is the Hearthflame mask, which is depicted in a menacing terastalized version for the special illustration of rare card number 212/167 from Twilight Mask.
As the name Hearthflame suggests, When Ogerpon dons this specific helmet, she acquires a set of Fire-type abilitiesincluding the Wrathful Hearth attack. To make it an even more powerful card, Hearthflame Mask Ogerpon is not only a Tera card, but also an ex-card. This is currently one of the least valuable of the various mask variation cards in Pokémon TCG: Mask of Twilight set, with a market price of $13.62 on TCGPlayer.

Ogerpon ex Cornerstone Mask (215/167)

Ogerpon appears once again as one of the most expensive Pokémon Mask of Twilight TCG cards. This time, she’s using Cornerstone Mask, which usually turns Ogerpon into a Grass and Rock dual-type, but makes it a Fighting-type on the card. The card is a rare illustration and features beautiful full art depicting the Pokémon in an almost abstract mosaic style.
Ogerpon has the powerful ability “Angled Stance”, which prevents it from being damaged by any Pokémon that has an ability, making this a desirable card. Its “Demolish” attack is also useful, as it ignores the opposing card’s Weakness and Resistance. At the time of writing, the former Cornerstone Mask Ogerpon card is valued at $15.61 on TCGPlayer.

Teal Ogerpon ex mask (221/167)
Hyper Rare
Teal Mask Ogerpon appears once again as one of the most valued cards in the Pokémon TCG Twilight Mask set. This time, the card’s crystallized illustration appears against a gold background and is hyper rare, making it a little harder to control. This card has exactly the same abilities, attacks and stats as the silver variant.
Teal Mask Ogerpon is able to use the ability “Teal Dance”, which assigns a Grass-type energy to the card once per turn and allows the player to draw a card. The Pokémon also has Myriad Leaf Shower, which deals damage proportional to the number of energy cards attacked to the active Pokémon. Although the card is almost identical to the silver version, this card is currently worth $18.12 in market value according to TCGPlayer.

Sinistcha ex (210/167)

Sinistcha’s name is made up of the words “sinister” and “matcha,” a perfect name for a Grass and Ghost-type Pokémon that looks like a small green tea with a whisk on its head, living inside a traditional Japanese teacup. . . Sinistcha evolves from Poltchageist and has some incredibly useful abilities, how to heal 30 damage from each of the player’s Pokémon with its powerful “Matcha Splash” attack.
This card’s full illustration is cute and moody, showing Sinistcha looking curiously at a person flipping through a photo album. A small green handprint is stamped across the open page and the overall atmosphere is one of whimsy and nostalgia. The combination of the attractive card and useful abilities makes this card worth $18.05 according to TCGPlayer.

Wellspring Ogerpon ex mask (213/167)

Another of Ogerpon’s impressive masks, and one of the most feminine and striking for the grace, beauty and emotions it evokesIt’s the Wellspring mask. Depicted in the special illustration for rare card 213/167, this blue mask includes a sad expression complete with tears streaming down the cheeks. On the full-art card, the mask takes on the Tera-type crystalline form, which somehow manages to make the mask even more sad and heartbroken, which pairs very well with the attack simply called Sob.
This card is covered in a blue crystallized appearance, appearing to be an icy female face crying bright tears. According to TCGPlayerthe Wellspring Mask Ogerpon ex card contains a market value of $19.72 USD at the time of writing, with prices recently dropping from $61.98 closer to launch. With many collectors wanting to own the complete set of rare special Ogerpon Mask illustrations, the values of each mask card will likely rise and fall as more people start opening decks of cards and the number of cards on the market fluctuates.

Buddy-Buddy Poffin (223/167)

Interestingly, one of the highest value cards is not only not a Pokémon or Trainer, but is also only listed as a hyper-rare item type. The Buddy-Buddy Poffin is an item card that has a secret card rarity for card number 223/167 and features an attractive gold coloring. The full card art shows two of the Poffin candies, which can help trainers in many video games when trying to level up their Pokémon.

The water-loving trainer Pokémon: Sun and MoonLana, makes a welcome appearance in Twilight Mask also. An accomplished fisherman, Pokémon trainer and test captain Lana is adept at using Water-type Pokémon. In this Pokémon TCG: Mask of Twilight set, she is shown in a full card design that showcases her love of water as she crouches on the shore with several Water-type Pokémon friends around her.
Full-art Trainer cards are often highly desirable for collectors, and this Lana Help card is no exception. The card’s peaceful illustration adds value with the beautiful use of color and serenity depicted, with Lana’s fishing rod at her side and smiling Pokémon friends looking at her happily. The most coveted of the Ogerpon mask cards is none other than the video game’s DLC namesake, Scarlet and Violet: The Teal Mask, as Pokémon TCG: Mask of Twilight Tera version of Teal Mask Ogerpon ex debuts. This powerful card would be useful in battleparticularly with the Teal Dance ability which grants players the chance to draw cards, but can also be valued enough to prevent it from spending too much time in play.

Kieran is a rival coach of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet DLC and younger brother of popular trainer Carmine. Although a powerful opponent, the character is quiet and gentle, and often downright shy. Kieran’s full illustration card shows the trainer enjoying some caramel apples at a festival, wearing a Teal Mask on his head and smiling broadly.
Kieran is a unique Supporter card because it allows players to choose between two actions. When this card is played, it can swap the active Pokémon for one on the Bench or increase the damage dealt against the opponent’s active Ex and V cards. The card’s versatility and beauty guarantee it its place as one of the most expensive Twilight Mask cards, and TCGPlayer values at $30.86.

The Blood Moon Beast, formerly Bloodmoon Ursaluna, is one of the most valuable cards for the Pokémon TCG: Mask of Twilight set. Perhaps due to the darker history of this unique evolution that was discovered in the DLC for Scarlet and VioletThis Pokémon immediately won the hearts of many fans. This rare card with special illustration shows a lighter side of things, however, with a more light-hearted depiction of Bloodmoon Ursaluna’s ex simply on a little quest for honey inside a treewith several Teddiursa and even a Munchlax looking on in wonder.
This rare card for Bloodmoon Ursaluna ex no Twilight Mask set is evaluated with a market price of $39.60 USD on TCGPlayer at the time of writing. At first, the card was selling for around $100, experiencing some major fluctuations before the card market stabilized.

Close observers will notice that the number of visible Eevee is equal to the number of evolution possibilities, suggesting that each of these identical Pokémon may be destined for very different lives. This rare card illustration is listed as number 188/167 and, at the time of this writing, is shown to have a market price of $52.47 USD according to TCGPlayer.

Perrin (220/167)

One of the most interesting features of this rare Special Illustration Trainer card from photography lover Perrin is that is part of a matching set of two cards. On this card number 220/167, Perrin’s camera shows a reflection of the Pokémon she is taking a photo of, Hisuian Growlithe. Another rare card with special illustration on the Pokémon TCG: Mask of Twilight set is none other than that Hisuian Growlithe in card 181/167, where the Growlithe is clearly shown looking happily at Perrin with its front paws on its legs.
Although Hisuian Growlithe’s card is not as highly valued as Perrin’s, obtaining both cards will be desirable for many collectors in order to have the full story shown in the lovely illustration. Currently, in TCGPlayerPerrin’s card number 220/167 is listed with a market price of $66.88 USD.

Carmine 217/167

Before the release of Pokémon TCG: Mask of Twilightthe special illustration rare Coach Carmine card was selling for over $120, but unfortunately saw its value drop as more cards found their way into the hands of collectors. However, it remains one of the most coveted cards, featuring a vibrant illustration of Carmine with a candy apple in his hand in what appears to be some kind of amusement park. The card also offers a useful ability, allowing the player to discard their hand to draw 5 cards.
Although prices have dropped, at the time of writing, Carmine’s secret rare card 217/167 is still commanding high prices in online sales. Currently, in TCGPlayerthe card is shown as having a market price of $72.39 USD.

The most coveted card in Twilight Mask set is the Fighting-type frog, Greninja ex, with a rare special illustration card 214/167. Greninja ex is not only an already powerful Pokémon, but it is also an ex card and has the advantage of being terastalized. Greninja ex’s Tera form gives this colorful card an even more attractive appearance, with the crystallized appearance evident even when surrounded by a barrage of color that surrounds it.
The Secret Rare Letter from Greninja’s Ex has remained fairly consistent in online market prices, at least at the time of writing. It is currently listed on TCGPlayer in a market price of $300.29 USD. The card is a true work of art in its illustration and offers players a useful ability to find cards in the deck and add them to their hand, something that is always needed in Pokémon TCG.
