As 2024 draws to a close, a look back at the Marvel Cinematic Universe film and the three films in Sony's Spider-Man Universe that were released this year shows that many powerful characters have graced the silver screen. Deadpool and Wolverine surprised fans with many exciting cameos and characters from the multiverse in supporting roles. Channing Tatum's Gambit fits the latter. Tatum was first cast as Gambit in 2014was intended to lead a solo film as the mutant and join Fox's X-Men franchise. However, that film would be stuck in development hell for many years, being canceled when the Disney/Fox merger happened.
Fortunately, Ryan Reynolds advocated for Tatum to play Gambit in Deadpool and Wolverine. Not only did he look faithful to the comics, but Gambit's powers were perfectly represented on the big screen. As it was an R-rated MCU entry, Gambit could freely use its powers to imbue cards with kinetic energy and blast many villains along the way. Kraven the Hunter was tasked with bringing a better version of Rhino to life after the character was let down by The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Aleksei Sytsevich's version of Alessandro Nivola, aka Rhino, is easily better than the mechanical Rhino from Andrew Garfield's latest Spider-Man solo film. Contrary to this view of the character, Kraven the Hunter in truth made Nivola's version of Aleksei undergo a physical transformation.
The Rhino looked great, except for some strange shots in the valley, and he was hard to stop. In the film, Rhino is the final character Kraven the Hunter fights. Venom's durability is impressive, with the symbiote also being able to resurrect Eddie Brock through his healing abilities, which happens several times throughout the Venom films. The symbiote shoots tendrils that allow it to swing, grab enemies, and more. With super strength, reflexes and more classic abilities, Venom is quite powerful.

The last two spots on the list are reserved for villains. The characters played different roles in their 2024 films, but they are both immensely powerful. The first is Cassandra Nova, who was the main villain of Deadpool and Wolverine. Emma Corrin made the character scary. Cassandra Nova is Charles Xavier's twin sisterwhich shows how powerful she is as a telepath. Deadpool and Wolverine He made a point of using his powers whenever possible.
Cassandra Nova displayed a wide range of powers in the MCU film.
