Some anime characters, although evil, are understandable. They commit irresponsible acts, but when the bigger picture is put into context, their actions can be understood. Other characters are outright evil for almost no reason. These characters are so despicable that they can only be hated. They use the people in their lives as nothing more than tools to get a job done. Or they are willing to lie, cheat and steal their way to the top, justifying their actions with nothing.
These hypocritical characters have no good sides. Itachi Uchiha was once one of the most hated characters in anime until his true motive was revealed, shining a light on a previously invisible side of the Akatsuki member. Shou Tucker used his dog and daughter as an experiment, making him simply the worst, plain and simple.

Sakura Haruno
naruto
Sakura was easily the most hated character in the anime when naruto aired for the first time. She was an incompetent anchor who weighed Team Seven down at every turn. In fact, it wasn't her fault as she was put in the wrong group. Sasuke was not only an Uchiha, but also one of the village's most promising ninjas. Naruto had the Nine-Tails sealed within him and was also the son of the Fourth Hokage, Minato Namikaze. Sakura is not related to any legendary ninja and only receives a power boost much later in the series.
Although she is able to fight on relatively equal terms much later Naruto: Shippuden, At first, Sakura is a very frustrating character. She isn't adding much value to Team Seven and instead spends her time getting a haircut or fighting Ino to an inconclusive draw.

Gendo Ikari
Neon Genesis Evangelion
Gendo Ikari is one of the worst parents in anime. As soon as his wife Yui dies, he sends his son Shinji away. While he is mourning the loss of Yui, so is Shinji, but Gendo threw him away when he didn't want him. He only asks for Shinji's return when he has a dangerous Evangelion unit ready for his son to pilot. Even after Shinji's return, Gendo remains cold and distant towards his son. The end of Evangelion reveals in its conclusion that Gendo truly loved Shinji and was always afraid of hurting him.
Unfortunately for Shinji, he never saw this side of his father and only experienced the worst of him. Outside of his relationship with his son, Gendo had a romantic relationship with Naoko Akagi and her daughter Ritsuko years later, which is also quite scary.

Malty Melromarc started Rise of the Shield Hero as a promising secondary character. She was smart and helpful to Naofumi as he got used to his new world. She was only using Naofumi, however, and made him go into debt to buy her expensive adventure gear. She also stole his chainmail and the rest of his money to give to a new group later. Worst of all, she accused Naofumi of assault to further bury his social standing, a crime he never committed.
Malty's actions in Rise of the Shield Hero are quite irremediable. She never regrets what she does and thinks it is morally right if she gets what she wants. She downplays the voices of real victims while hurting an innocent man at the same timeEasily earning a spot as one of the most hateable anime characters of all time.

Unlike Malty, who is hated for who he is, Zenitsu is hated for who he could be. He is capable of one of the strongest breathing techniques in the world. Demon Slayer, but he rarely uses it because of the fear he feels. When Tanjiro, Inosuke, and even Nezuko jump into battle, Zenitsu often cries somewhere behind them. Even he knows how annoying he is, as in episode 17 he says, “I hate myself more than anyone. I always think I have to pull myself together, but I end up cowering, running away, whining. I want to be a competent person."
With the final arc of Demon Slayer which will soon be animated as a trilogy of films, Zenitsu has the chance to redeem his cowardly attitude. His breathing technique is beautiful, powerful and devastating every time he uses it, so I hope he feels brave enough to pull it out during the final battle.

Danzo Shimura
Naruto Shippuuden
Danzo Shimura is another character from naruto this, rightly so, generates a lot of hate. Unlike Sakura, however, Danzo is never redeemed and is a selfish and hateful character until his death. He is a shadow Hokage, running things behind the scenes. Although he claims to do this for the good of Konoha, it appears that his actions benefit Danzo and his organization more. He is the brutal leader of the Root assassin group and tried to kill Kakashi for leaving. He is also a major antagonist of the entire Uchiha Clan, stealing their eyes and implanting them in a disgusting way into his own body.
He killed Itachi's best friend Shisui just to steal his eye and his jutsu. Fortunately, Sasuke was able to redeem his clan when he killed Danzo once and for all. Even during his final battle, Danzo was an evil, self-centered, and manipulative character who deserved nothing but contempt.

Ging Freeccs
Hunter x Hunter
Ging Freeccs is another of the worst parents in anime. He abandoned Gon at a young age, leaving him with his cousin Mito. Ging also left crumbs for Gon to follow if he ever wanted to meet his father, a ridiculous challenge to get his son through. When Gon was in the hospital with his life at risk, Ging never came to visit him. Gon's friend Leorio even asked Ging to visit him, hoping that it would help Gon. When Ging found out that Gon didn't specifically asking him to come, he refused.
Ging is another self-centered character who doesn't have to pay for the consequences of his actions because he is strong. Luckily, Gon has a great support system around him who acts as the father figure he needs. Gon also notices his father's shortcomings, never giving him much importance.

Shou Tucker
Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood
Shou Tucker is absurdly hateable. He was an alchemist who wanted to do anything to get his license and be respected in his community. He accomplished this by creating a chimera capable of human speech, the first in the world of Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. Unfortunately, Shou sacrificed his wife to create the first chimera. When Al and Edward meet him later in the series, he is about to lose his license unless he creates another chimera.
In one of the anime's darkest twists, Shou uses his daughter Nina and his dog Alexander to create a new chimera hybrid. Edward finds out when the chimera calls him brother, just like Nina did. Shou never apologizes and even has the gall to compare his situation to Edward and Al's. Fortunately, Scar was able to kill Shou later and give the chimera the mercy killing she deserved.

Minoru Mineta
My Hero Academy
Being a little perverted is nothing new in anime. There are many beloved characters who can be a little perverted, like Jiraiya from naruto or Master Roshi of Dragon ballwho are able to control their feelings when it matters. Minoru Mineta has all of his worst qualities and none of his good ones. He's so focused on being a pervert that that's his main trait. Your perversion is a problem for practically everyone in My Hero Academy as this only leads to uncomfortable situations for everyone involved.
Although it's not a problem for a high school boy to be interested in girls, Mineta knows no limits. He takes everything too far and makes the girls around him feel uncomfortable. If he were able to understand consent a little better, he might be a lot less hateful.

Rachel
Tower of God
Rachel was initially a sweet character in Tower of God. She gave Baam her name and spent a lot of time with him when he first came to this world from the Tower. Beneath his gentle facade, however, was a boundless well of malice. She has been plotting against Baam since they both entered the Tower, jealous of his power and the Tower's decision to choose him over her. When she fakes an injury that leaves her “paralyzed,” Baam is by her side the entire time.
In a crucial test deep in an aquatic environment, Baam was tasked with protecting Rachel. He did so well, and at the end of the test, Rachel pushed him into the abyss. She betrayed the most innocent character in the series for no real reason. After she tried to kill Baam, she went to his friends and told them that he died alone, using them as crutches to climb the Tower.

Griffith/Femto
Furious
Griffith is a villainous character in Furious. He started out as the brave, powerful, and noble leader of the Band of the Falcon before sacrificing all of his allies and friends for power. He lost his mind during the year he spent in captivity and allowed himself to become the ultimate evil, even after being saved. When Guts saved him from his captivity, he was a shadow of his former self. He used the Crimson Behelit to summon the Eclipse, ascending to the God Hand by sacrificing the entire Band of the Falcon, as well as Guts and Casca.
Griffith then abandoned his humanity and became Femto, a force of evil. Griffith's weak and insecure mentality led to him being captured in the first place. He then sacrificed everyone who loved him for a useless piece of power.
