Pokémon TCG Pocket has a number of incredible special illustrations and secret rare cards that are worth adding to any collection. The new digital card game launches worldwide this week and features over 250 new digital games Pokémon cards. This Eevee card illustrated by sowsow shows the popular Pokémon looking at the three evolutionary stones that trigger its evolution in the original. Pokémon games. One small detail that stands out about this card is how much Eevee is loved by its owner. Not only is there a framed photo of Eevee in the background, but there are also several photo albums that apparently show Eevee sitting at a table. Considering that Pokémon often change personalities when they evolve, we can’t help but wonder if there’s more to Eevee’s apprehensive look than mere curiosity.

Interestingly, Only the original Eevee evolutions (Jolteon, Flareon, and Vaporeon) currently appear in the game and Eevee is the only member of the evolutionary line to receive special card treatment. Eevee is also featured in a line of special accessories in Pokémon TCG Pocket which features Eevee and its various evolutions on card sleeves and game mats. This Nurikabe Gyarados card shows the powerful Water-type Pokémon about to fire a Hyper Beam attack. The card’s art matches Gyarados’ signature move, as the card’s Hyper Beam deals a whopping 100 damage. If Gyarados’ target survives the attack, Hyper Beam also forces the opponent to discard an Energy from that Pokémon. While Pokémon typically need a turn to recover from a Hyper Beam, it appears the designers opted to give the attack an extra boost.

Although energy is generated automatically in the game, forcing players to dedicate their energy consumption to replenishing active Pokémon is a great way to prevent an opponent from preparing their next attack. Gyarados is a powerful addition to any Water-type deck, and this card is one of the best one-star alt-art cards in Pokémon TCG Pocket.

This Golbat card from Tomokazu Komiya features an abstract illustration of the bat-like Pokémon in a cave. Komiya is a prolific Pokémon card illustrator known for his distinctive Primitivism-inspired style. As demonstrated by Golbat’s art, many of Komiya’s illustrations feature distorted or deformed versions of Pokémon.

Notably, Komiya was also one of the artists who participated in the 2023 Pokémon x Van Gogh, having contributed to the art of Smeargle and Sunflora. This Golbat card looks more like a work of abstract art than a typical Pokémon cardwhich is why it’s a unique showcase for an underrated Pokémon.

This card also benefits from a relatively recent change in Pokémon Trading Card Game, with Kadabra now available to appear on cards for the first time in over 20 years due to a now-settled court case. Due to the process, Pokémon TCG the designers had to work around Kadabra’s exclusion by skipping evolution or using Alakazam as the base Pokémon. Pokémon TCG Pocket also features Kadabra’s original card art, a nice callback to the original Pokémon TCG Base Set.

Gengar ex comes with a powerful ability which prevents opponents from using Supporter cards while in the Active Point.

Moltres ex is a particularly powerful card, with an ability that can attract up to three Fire energy to a player’s Benched Pokémon.
