Godzilla vs. Kong: The New Empire pits Godzilla against his longtime rival once again, with the new film including several Easter eggs from other Godzilla films. The two kaiju have occasionally teamed up to combat threats to humanity, but Godzilla and Kong are generally enemies and each of the Godzilla/Kong Monstroverse The franchise’s films show a different side of the iconic characters. In Godzilla vs. KongKong finds himself on the Earth’s surface again, and although he and Godzilla have a greater threat to fight in the form of King Skar, the two fight once more.
THE MonstroverseThe Godzilla and Kong movies and TV shows have no shortage of stories to continue the Godzilla and Kong stories, as there are many villains and heroes who have yet to appear in the Monstroverse films. Many of these characters have been referenced in brief glimpses of rock art, in more subtle tributes to fight moves in certain film scenes, or, as in Godzilla vs. Kongexciting hints about possible stories to come. Maybe more than anyone else Godzilla film, Godzilla vs. Kong gave viewers glimpses into Godzilla and Kong’s futureoften through the subtle use of Easter eggs.

Jet Jaguar
A familiar Godzilla theme song is referenced
An unforgettable character who was considered the least likely to join Godzillahas been restarted Monstroverse franchise was Jet Jaguar. The friendly and heroic robot was one of Godzilla most kid-friendly characters in the franchise and don’t seem to fit into the new Monstroversewhich has been prioritizing great visuals and fights between its iconic characters.
However, Godzilla vs. Kong made reference to the popular Jet Jaguar with an Easter egg. Godzilla returns to Rome in Godzilla vs. Kongwhere there is an interesting mural on the wall showing Godzilla eating pizza.
Next to it are the words “PUNCH! PUNCH! PUNCH!“This is the name of the Jet Jaguar theme song, and just to underline the reference to Jet Jaguar, there is a sketch of his arm below the words. As humans are making cybernetic modifications to the Monstroverse, the chances of a Jet Jaguar appearance could become more likely.

Bernie’s Podcast
Planet X on the horizon could be an exciting hint at the Godzilla movie
Former cybernetics technician and podcaster Bernie Hayes first appeared on Godzilla vs. Kongand he’s been interested in the alien landing in Roswell ever since. Bernie investigates and explores his conspiracy theories on his own podcast, Titan Truthand he mentions a podcast in Godzilla vs. Kongcalled Planet X on the horizon.
There are several references to Planet X in Bernie’s very detailed conspiracy walland this may hint at a bigger plan for later Godzilla films. Godzilla vs. Kong shows some of Bernie’s podcast episode titles, some of which also feature the name Planet X.

This is a reference to the movie Godzilla Astro-Monster Invasionwhich has the mysterious Planet X as its central location. If Planet X is indeed “on the horizon“, this may suggest that later Godzilla the films will feature threats from space. Since King Ghidorah is from space, Godzilla vs. Kong may have shown viewers an upcoming villain.

Podcast Trolls
GhidorahStan64 can support King Ghidorah’s tip
Bernie reveals he has been dealing with a troublesome troll in Godzilla vs. Kongwho is only known by the username GhidorahStan64. The name is a double reference, as the three-headed dragon King Ghidorah first appeared in the Godzilla film Ghidorah: the three-headed monsterreleased in 1964.
King Ghidorah is one of Godzilla the franchise’s most formidable and sadistic villains, and he may return for more havoc. The end of Godzilla vs. Kong implied that Ghidorah had been destroyed. After Ghidorah’s consciousness was transferred to Mechagodzilla, who was destroyed by Kong, it appeared that the dragon-like space monster no longer existed.
That being said, It’s possible that Ghidorah’s consciousness survived or part of it was collected to be reconstructed later. If Ghidorah has a superfan on Earth who is already making Bernie’s life difficult, the villain may have even more damage to do,

Pink Godzilla
A reference to one of Godzilla’s most terrifying appearances
Godzilla’s powers can change depending on the film he stars in, and many of the Godzilla the films show it taking on a characteristic color. Godzilla vs. KongGodzilla has pink atomic breath, which came from him absorbing Tiamat’s energy. Godzilla vs. Kong is the first film to show Godzilla with pink atomic breath, but this new pink Godzilla resembles another version of the kaiju.
The theme of mutation Shin Godzilla is without a doubt the most disturbing of all Godzilla films, as he mutates throughout the film. Shin Godzilla was able to produce a pink or purple glow throughout his body, and his spines carried the same hue. Still, even Shin Godzilla’s atomic powers did not match the new version seen in Godzilla vs. Kong. Since this color came from the energy of another kaiju, it is unknown whether Godzilla will have these same powers in his next film.
Godzilla vs. Kong References The Most Unpopular Godzilla Film of All Time
In Godzilla vs. KongGodzilla senses an imminent battle and heads to a nuclear plant in France to absorb radiation. There is a very brief scene where French soldiers see giant footprints left by Godzilla on the way to the plant. The scene could be an Easter egg for one Godzilla failure of a film that Japan’s Toho Studio hated so much they rejected it.
The 1998 Godzilla film reimagined Godzilla as an iguana-like monster. It removed most of the key features that made Godzilla’s story resonate with Japanese audiences, and Toho publicist Yosuke Ogura described the design as “a disaster.” The French played an important role in the 1998 campaign Godzilla film, and the catch was one of its defining scenes, so the catch reference in Godzilla vs. Kong it will probably be a quick and funny reminder.

Godzilla Stomp
Godzilla has used this move on Kong before
Godzilla and Kong may have made an uneasy peace at the end of Godzilla vs. Kongbut that doesn’t mean the two can’t still fight. In Godzilla vs. KongGodzilla briefly fights Kong once again and gives the giant ape kaiju a reminder of how things went the last time this happened. While fighting between the pyramids, Godzilla stomps on Kong’s chest before Mothra arrives to separate the two.
This fighting move is an Easter egg for Godzilla vs. Kongin which Godzilla’s signature move nearly killed Kong. Because the beat was so effective the last time viewers saw the kaiju fight each other, it added some unpredictability to the outcome of the fight. However, using the same move did not make the fight itself predictable, as Godzilla showed mercy on Godzilla vs. Kongalthough it took Mothra’s intervention to stop Godzilla from fully attacking Godzilla vs. Kong.

Godzilla Pizza Wall Sticker Gives Viewers Three Easter Eggs in One
The pizza mural in Godzilla vs. Kong is full of Godzilla Easter Eggsand in the bottom right corner there is a note saying “SAVE THE EARTH“, with the design of two eyes. This gives the audience three Easter eggs in one, like Save the Earth is the title of 2004 Godzilla video game.
This is also the title of Godzilla film Godzilla vs. Hedorahand this film gives viewers the third Easter egg. Hedora is a Godzilla villain, who is the personification of pollution and smog, and looks like a black mass of oil and pollution with two huge eyes set far apart.

Kiss of Death
Godzilla repeats another of his fighting moves
Godzilla has a huge number of powers and fighting moves to choose from, and the best of them use his size and strength or Godzilla’s signature atomic breath. The “kiss of death“movement first appeared in 2014 Godzilla filmand showed Godzilla separating the female MUTO’s jaws and blowing his blue atomic breath into her mouth.
It is one of Godzilla’s most memorable deaths and appears as an Easter egg in Godzilla vs. Kong.
It is one of Godzilla’s most memorable deaths and appears as an Easter egg in Godzilla vs. Kong. The beginning of Godzilla vs. Kong shows Godzilla maintaining order in the world by fighting and defeating giant monsters (also known as Titans) on the Earth’s surface.
One of them is Scylla, which looks like a cross between a spider and a sea monster and feeds on radiation. Godzilla kills Scylla in Rome’s Colosseum by employing his Kiss of Death move, which was so popular among fans that the signature move’s name became canon in Godzilla tradition.

Mysterious Bones
This skeleton appeared in Mothra vs Godzilla
THE Skeleturtle has been extremely popular among Godzilla fans since appearing in the 1964 film Mothra x Godzilla. It is one of many unfortunate dead and dying creatures found on Infant Island and is collectively known as “the mysterious bones.”
However, although none of the characters seem to notice or interact with the skeleton turtle, its distinctive appearance made it memorable. It is unknown whether the skeleton turtle is dead or just an unusual-looking creature, although many of the bones appear to move in the wind. Mothra x Godzillathe skeleton turtle is shown as a living creature in the Godzilla: Rulers of the Earth comic.
Godzilla mural shows a sketch of the skeleton turtle which is easy to miss, as it is underneath an even more mysterious drawing that resembles a kaiju from Pacific Rimwhat is not Godzilla film.

A confirmed tribute to Godzilla
Godzilla’s Stomp is a confirmed reference minus one
Although most Easter eggs in Godzilla vs. Kong These are clear homages, not all of which were mentioned by the filmmakers. Still, one of the Easter eggs was a deliberate reference that was confirmed by Adam Winguard, the director of Godzilla vs. Kong.
The Godzilla mural that is so full of Easter eggs quickly turns to rubble when Godzilla steps on it, but Winguard felt he could improve the scene. The solution came when he saw the trailer for a different movie Godzilla film.
Winguard said Gizmodo, “we basically paid homage to Godzilla Minus One right at the beginning“, after he saw the Godzilla minus one trailer. He loved the way the visual effects artists showed the close-up of Godzilla’s foot and the impact of his foot pushing the ground in front of him, so he recreated his own version of the scene in Godzilla vs. Kong as a direct homage when Godzilla steps into his own mural.
