TorikoThe muscular character designs, intense action, and vibrant and creative monster and location designs make it the perfect love letter to the classics. Shounen Jump historyand with how detailed the power grid and world-building are, there ends up being a lot of original flair to balance things out. Toriko may not have the same prestige as some of Shounen JumpIt’s a big hit, but it’s still worth reading nonetheless.

Yudetamago Kinnikuman Starring Kinnikuman, Japan’s bumbling superhero who rarely saves the day without embarrassing himself. However, Kinnikuman gradually becomes more heroic, and much of his growth is fueled by the constant wrestling matches he and his friends have to defend the universe from the forces of evil.
We start out as a simple manga parody. Ultraman and other stories about superheroes, Kinnikuman gradually develops into a more serious plot and character-driven narrative, and as it does so Kinnikuman ultimately results in one of the most exciting and developed stories and actors of all shonen manga. The series has been serialized for over 40 years, with the last episode being released in Shu Play News since 2011, and in general it gets better and better with each new part.

Riku Sanjo and Koji Inada Dragon Quest: Dai’s Adventure begins 10 years after the hero Avan defeated the Demon King Hadlar, when world peace is disrupted by the emergence of an even greater evil, the Dark King Vern. As Avan dies in a rematch with Hadlar, the latter is now subservient to Virn, now Avan’s student, Dai, must become the new hero and save the world from evil.
Even though the manga follows all the typical Japanese fantasy and shonen manga, sincerity and overall excellent quality with which Dragon Quest: Dai’s Adventure embodies its images and themes, making the text timeless and powerfuleven if other stories could do something more unique. The franchise may not have much recognition outside of Japan, but it’s a series anyway. Shounen Jump fan, it would be remiss to ignore this.
