Taking place in Sony’s Spider-Man universe rather than the MCU, the Poison trilogy has just come to an end with The Last Dance. However, Knul’s emergence may finally give this universe a true Spider-Man that has yet to be identified.
from Sony Poison films, Morbius, Lady Teiaand Kraven the Hunter are all set in what is known as “Sony’s Spider-Man Universe”. However, an official Spider-Man has yet to appear in Sony’s current universe, as the animated film Spider-Verse the films take place across the multiverse, Tom Holland’s Spider-Man exists in the MCU, and Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s Peter Parkers exist in their own separate realities. That being said, there is a way for Knull to fulfill Garfield’s Amazing Spider-Man dream, while also fulfilling many fans’ dreams for the Websliger.
Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man Never Had to Fight an Alien
Tom Holland and Tobey Maguire’s Webslingers have
Serving as one of the best sequels in Spider-Man: No Way Homeall three Spider-Men compare notes on their past exploits before all of the displaced villains arrive at the Statue of Liberty. Not only do the three Peter Parkers come together and ask each other questions, they also An interesting distinction is made between Garfield’s Spider-Man and his variants: he has never fought an alien. While the first Amazing Spider-Man saw Garfield’s Peter fighting the Lizard, the second film featured Rhino, Electro and Harry Osborn’s Green Goblin.
On the other hand, both Tom Holland and Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Men have fought aliens. In Spider-Man 3Maguire’s Peter battles his reality’s version of Venom after spending some time using the symbiote. Likewise, Holland’s Spider-Man fought Thanos alongside the Avengers in both Infinity War and End of the game. To that end, Garfield can be heard complaining in No way home that he also wants to fight an alien after hearing about his fellow Spider-Men and their respective black and purple aliens.
Venom 3 introduced Knull as a major alien threat in the Sony universe
“The king in black is awake”
Keeping Garfield’s Peter Parker and his No way home hopes in mind, it seems quite significant that an all-new and extremely powerful alien has just made its live-action debut with Venom: The Last Dance. Also known as the King in Black, Knull the Symbiote God is a major threat, currently trying to break free from his cosmic prison to drown the entire universe in darkness. However, his xenophagous symbiote hunters fail to bring him the key to his release from Venom and Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock at the end of The Last Dance.
That being said, Poison 3 the post-credits scene makes it abundantly clear that it’s only a matter of time before the King in Black is free once again. Knull is also one of those Marvel villains who is so powerful that it will probably take multiple characters to take him down. To that end, it would be very exciting if Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man was somehow involved in this future conflict, finally fulfilling his wish to fight an alien.. However, one can imagine that he might regret this desire when and if he sees everything the King in Black is capable of.
The time may have finally come for Garfield to be the Sony Universe’s Spider-Man
Making Peter 3’s No Way Home dream a grim reality
A lot of Spider-Man fans would love to see more of Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man, especially if it were finally revealed that he is in fact the Webslinger of Sony’s Spider-Man Universe, as many fans have wanted from the beginning. Likewise, it wouldn’t be all that surprising if Knull was revealed to be a threat to the entire multiverse. Even so, Garfield’s Spider-Man could still be involved jumping universes once again if Sony’s Spider-Verse heroes teamed up with the MCU heroes to take on the King in Black. At the end of the day, you would still do your No way home dreams of fighting an alien come true.
