Teacup Killer’s Death Explained

Killer is finally killed while inside James Chenoweth’s body

In Cup of tea In the first season, Assassin is the main antagonist who tries to hunt Harbinger, and they are dangerous because they can jump from body to body, pretending to be the host. The show makes it look like they die if the host’s body dies with them inside. At the end of the season, the group devises a plan to defeat Assassin without killing anyone. They figure they can drown the host long enough for the alien to die and then administer CPR to revive it, a huge risk that could easily go wrong.

James and Maggie try to implement this plan when Assassin jumps inside Meryl, wearing gas masks to prevent the alien from possessing them. Unfortunately, in the process of drowning Meryl, James’ mask slips, allowing Assassin to jump onto her body. As they can’t get another chance to drown the Killer, the group decides to trap James – the host – in the freezer, killing him by asphyxiation. This finally defeats the enemy, who had been trying to hunt down Harbinger during Cup of tea season 1, but his struggles aren’t over. The final scene suggests that aliens aligned with Assassin are waking up.

Who survives the final episode

The surviving Teacup season 1 members escape through the barrier

Since Cup of tea falls into the horror genre, the expectation is that not all characters will survive until the end of the season, and the episodes do not disappoint. Characters die bloody deaths when they are pushed beyond the blue line, causing their bodies to melt except for their bones. However, as creator Ian McCulloch explained to Colliderthey intentionally didn’t show many grotesque moments on screen because they didn’t want the moments to lose their effectiveness.

Ultimately, a third of the characters in Cup of tea – both minor and major – did not survive until the end of the 1st season. These characters were lucky, making it out alive:

  • Maggie Chenoweth

  • Arlo Chenoweth

  • Meryl Chenoweth

  • Ellen Chenoweth

  • Nicholas Shanley

  • Ruben Shanley

  • Donald Kelly

  • McNab

  • Foreshadowing

Each family lost at least one member, bringing them closer to their imprisoned comrades. These characters finally cross the blue line safely. However, the loss of James hits the Chenoweths particularly hard, with Meryl begging Maggie to let him out of the freezer. Valeria Shanley’s death is also difficult to watch because Assassin is cruel enough to force her son to push her over the blue line, causing her a horrible death. In addition to exterminating the characters, this action shows how cruel and heartless the Assassin is, working only in his best interests.

What does the tree do in the teacup?

The tree is the source of the teacup trap

People stand near the tree in Peacock's Teacup

Peacock’s Teacup features a mysterious, decrepit-looking tree with magical properties on the farm. People cannot touch the tree under normal circumstances; they are only able to touch the branch after consuming a small amount of the rainbow’s liquid poison. It turns out that the tree in Teacup causes the force field that Assassin needs to keep the humans and Harbinger inside. It also cannot be burned, which gives it supernatural abilities.

Ultimately, the last two episodes of Teacup reveal that the tree is the source of the poison, which is why Ruben Shanley is only able to touch it after drinking the rainbow liquid. Fortunately, there was just enough left for him to break off one of the branches. Upon placing it in a jar, the branch melts into the poison, giving the party enough to escape the blue line barrier safely.

What is the Harbinger drawing and what does it mean

Harbinger on Arlo’s body keeps drawing the same jagged line

A jagged blue line is on the paper in Peacock's Teacup

In Cup of tea episodes 5 and 6, Harbinger reveals that he needs to turn on some kind of machine, apparently to prevent a massive alien invasion. However, it does not provide details about the location of the machine. During the finale of Peacock’s Cup of teaHarbinger, in Arlo’s body, begins drawing a jagged blue line on a piece of paper, repeating the same pattern over and over. There is no context on the page about the meaning of the drawing.

Since Harbinger is an alien who speaks a foreign language, it could be written text or some kind of foreign symbol. At first it is not clear how the drawing will help them. Fortunately, Meryl helps Arlo figure out what the drawing means. By placing the drawing on a map of the United States, they discover that the blue line is the path Harbinger needs to take to get to the machine. After finally escaping the Assassin’s trap, the group plans to travel along the map’s route.

What Hayden and Izzy Are (and How They Set Up Teacup Season 2)

The End Of Teacup Season 1 introduces two new faces

In the final moments of Peacock’s Cup of teathe group comes face to face with a person named Hayden wearing a gas mask and someone named Izzy with a megaphone and a gun. The pair run over McNab’s friends, who dormant killer aliens supposedly possess. They then jump out and threaten the surviving characters. Hayden and Izzy offer to help them get where they are going, but require them to wear armbands and ketamine to prevent unknown assassins from harming the group.

If the party decides to go with the mysterious duo at the beginning of Cup of tea In Season 2, they may have new allies or secret enemies who are trying to stop the Harbinger’s goal.

Although Hayden and Izzy present themselves as the good guys, it is unknown whether they are telling the truth. If the party decides to go with the mysterious duo at the beginning of Cup of tea In Season 2, they may have new allies or secret enemies who are trying to stop the Harbinger’s goal. Only time will tell if Hayden and Izzy are truly the good guys in this situation.

The True Meaning of Teacup Season 1 Finale

Teacup’s ending shows that not everyone can survive

The end of Cup of tea the first season is quite dark, killing off three different characters in the two-part finale. The show sends the message that not everyone can survive a horrible situation, and sometimes sacrifices need to be made for the better good. Teacup’s utilitarian outlook could shift to a more hopeful tone in season two, as the group fights to save the world from an alien invasion. However, characters will still likely be sacrificed to achieve the common goal, furthering the true message of Season 1 of Cup of tea.
