Tammy Slaton's living situation has always been complex, but her problems came to a head during 1000 Pound Sisters season 6. The 38-year-old influencer weighed 725 pounds, so she always needed a lot of help in everyday life. The fact that she needed so much help meant that she could never live alone. Now that she has lost a significant amount of weight, she has regained her mobility, but may have trouble taking care of herself. Tammy never learned to be independent, which continues to cause problems in her life.
After treating her food addiction and having bariatric surgery, Tammy lost an incredible 500 pounds. She's still learning how to treat herself well after a big change. Over the years, she has lived with almost all of her five siblings and burned many bridges along the way. She lived with 43-year-old Amanda HaltermanBut when it all ended badly, Tammy needed another residence, and quickly. During 1000 Pound Sisters Season 6, Tammy needed another family member to join her.
Tammy lived with her mother
Darlene couldn't take it anymore
For a while, Tammy lived with her mother, Darlene Rednour, and that worked out well for a while. The problem with Tammy is that she is difficult to get along with. She was always fighting with her mother and generally making her life difficult. Tammy always ends up clashing with the people in your lifeand his mother was no exception. The rest of the Slatons make excuses for Tammy's behavior, attributing it to her size. It's really hard to feel bad for Tammy because she is her own worst enemy.
Tammy lived with her sisters
Amy and Amanda took her in
After moving out of Darlene's house, Tammy spent some time living with her sister, 37-year-old Amy Slaton. When Amy married Michael Halterman, Tammy moved in next door. This was the most independent Tammy has ever been. Although she still needed help with her daily needs, she had her own space. When Tammy became ill and had to check into a rehab center for weight losshis house was robbed. After leaving rehab, Tammy didn't feel safe living there and needed a new residence.
Tammy's other sister, Amanda, intervened, offering to let Tammy live in her guest house. This worked for a while, but as always, Tammy's stubbornness gets in the way of her relationships. After Tammy and Amanda fought during a 1000 Pound Sisters season 6 family reunion, Tammy refused to make up with her sister. Her extreme stubbornness would not allow her to humiliate herself. Instead of making up with her sister, Tammy decided to move out of Amanda's guest house.
Tammy lives next door to Chris and Brittany
This can cause problems
As always, when Tammy gets into trouble, one of her brothers rushes to her aid. This time, it was her brother, 1000 Pound Sisters' Chris Combs, 41, who came to Tammy's rescue. Chris and his wife, Brittany Combs, of 36 years, recently purchased the house next door to their home as an investment property. They planned to rent the house to a tenant, but decided to let Tammy live there. Brittany worried that letting Tammy live next door would cause drama.
Brittany reminded Chris that Tammy had butted heads with every family member she lived with.
Chris knows better than anyone how difficult Tammy can be. As the family patriarch, he has helped look after his hot-headed sister since long before he joined the cast of 1000 Pound Sisters. She even lived with him once, for a brief period, many years ago.
However 1000 Pound Sisters star Chris knows that letting his famous sister live next door will cause problems, he explains that he can't let her be homeless. Chris said he did his best to take care of Tammy, but didn't let her come between him and his wife. It remains to be seen how Tammy will burn the last family bridge she has left.
