One Law & Order: Special Victims Unit the star is ready to move on to other shows. The show, which tells the story of the NYPD’s criminal sex crimes unit, was Law and orderThis is the first spin-off to run since 1999. Over the years, the cast has almost completely changed, leaving only Mariska Hargitay’s Olivia Benson from the first season. Hargitay’s retention is impressive as the series now airs its 26th season, and SVU is currently awaiting renewal for season 27.
Kelly Giddish, who joined the show in season 13, spoke with On-screen rant exclusively about my experience SVU. Although Giddish enjoyed Rollin’s role in the intelligence unit, she’d like to appear on another Dick Wolf show. She liked to appear in Chicago PDSo new Law and order, FBIor One Chicago a crossover would be exciting for her. Check out her full quote below:
Screen swearing: It feels like Rollin’s new job in the intelligence department could intersect with a lot of different shows in the Dick Wolf universe. Would you like to be on One Chicago or another Law & Order series again?
Kelly Giddish: I think it would be a lot of fun. And what an opportunity Dick Wolf and company have given us all, living in the same world, that this is indeed possible. When I joined the Chicago PD many years ago, it was a lot of fun. You’ll be on a completely different set with a completely different cast and crew, and you’ll be able to play for a week, so I’m definitely open to all of that.
What Kelly Giddish’s statement means for law and order
Rollins may cross over with other shows
Rollins is no longer assigned to the Special Victims Unit as she is now a member of the Intelligence Unit. As an intelligence investigator, Rollins’ job is to travel around the city to conduct counter-terrorism operations.. This means it can easily interact with other teams and maybe even other Dick Wolf shows. She has already appeared in Chicago Fire And Chicago PDso Rollins’ reintroductions wouldn’t require too much explanation. She could even be on other shows, including the original one. Law and order or FBI: Most Wanted.
Part of the franchise’s appeal has always been its ability to expand its reach to other cities and concepts. Rollins has spent most of her career SVUbut the new mobile role gives her the opportunity to hop from show to show. She could easily become a traveling character who makes regular guest appearances on every Dick Wolf show. No place on Benson SVU a team that can provide her with the only reasonable opportunity to enjoy regular performances outside of the mundane drama.
Our take on potential crossovers with Amanda Rollins
Dick Wolf’s universe was made for crossovers
Crossovers are a natural next step for Rollins’ character. Considering how many Dick Wolf shows are on television these days, Rollins could serve as the glue that holds them all together. She is in a unique position: her counterterrorism operations may well take her to other cities to investigate potential threats. A spin-off is probably the best platform for her character since the constant crossovers can be annoying, but she would benefit from branching out from Law & Order: Special Victims Unit to other shows.
