Survival Ascended battlerigs, this is how Ark 2 can add even more vehicles

Ark: Ascended Survival introduced Battlerigs to the franchise, opening the doors for Ark 2 to expand into vehicles. The Battlerigs, added in WINGThe Wasteland War update from Wasteland War, are fierce monster truck-like vehicles that can be used in a variety of ways. All the different modifiers can make these war vehicles versatile and easily interchangeable. While they may feel a little out of place in this prehistoric survival world, a little innovation can't do much harm.

Unfortunately, there has been little news about the highly anticipated sequel. Ark 2 has gone through a series of delays and was supposed to be released in late 2024. However, as that period has already come and gone as of this writing, there is no exact date. It also seems Ascended There's a lot of content still planned, which could mean Ascended will take the Ark franchise forward.

What vehicles could Ark 2 add

Moving into a modern world

Based on the Battlerig, there are some vehicle ideas Ark 2 could include. The first option is a fully open helicopter prototype. This is not too far from the possibilities and remains balanced. Something like this could be used as a heavy weight transportation deviceperhaps better than most non-rare domesticates. The alternative is to turn it into something battle-ready with turrets or heavy projectiles.

The second option is another land vehicle, something similar to a motorcycle. This wouldn't be as versatile as the Battlerig, but could be a good alternative for flatter maps. Due to its speed, it can also be used in a more hit-and-run style, something that equipment and most tames cannot do. In terms of theme, a motorcycle-like vehicle is probably the most reasonable addition to the game without looking too out of place.

The last option would take players out onto the water in a gunboat. This would be the trickiest to manage, but it could also be the most fun. ArkThe oceans can be dangerous, so something that makes them safer to navigate, other than a domesticated creature, would be a blessing. This can come with a simple turret or harpoonwith enough speed to safely escape most encounters.

How Vehicles Could Change the Ark

New ways to navigate and fight

Vehicles, added and balanced properly, can be an interesting change to Ark. It has already been stated by Studio Wildcard that The sequel has plans for countless big changes. Given that Battlerigs have been added, this could hint at what the plans are. All of this could lead to a faster pace Ark which is complemented by the dinosaurs rather than dictated by them.

That would Ark more of a mix of modern/futuristic equipment mixed with the prehistoric. Although the current Ark there's already a good chunk of that, Ark 2 could improve it. This effect would only be amplified if Ark 2 adds a new level of technology, which would make sense for a sizable upgrade. General, this mix would create new combos, synergies and gaming experiences which are impossible in Ascended.

Maintaining a proper balance

The key to adding vehicles in Ark 2 would be balancing them appropriately around the dinosaurs. Nothing should be indestructible against most creatures. Some early to mid-game dinosaurs should be weaker against vehicles, but not to the point where something like Rex or another of the AscendedThe best dinosaurs in the world cannot be a threat. This would eliminate anything that was heavily armored and would also help balance vehicles for PvP.

The other aspect of the vehicles in Ark 2 it could be how dinosaurs work with them. The easiest example of this are vehicles that can transport dinosaurs, perhaps even several, depending on their size. A more creative but harder to implement feature is for dinosaurs to become a “part” of the vehicles. Something like a thorny dragon becoming a makeshift tower or a large flying tame that gives a land vehicle the temporary ability to fly.

Little things like this can go a long way in a game like Ark. If dinosaurs and vehicles are separated, it could appeal to players in different ways and detract from what makes them unique. Ark excellent. It will be crucial for any vehicles added in Ark: Survival Ascended or Ark 2 be carefully implemented and balanced between the creatures that make the game popular.
