After his performance in Agatha all the timeKathryn Hahn has joined an elite group of MCU actors who continue to break a surprising awards trend for Marvel Studios' Multiverse Saga. Kathryn Hahn first appeared as the original Salem witch Agatha Harkness in WandaVisionand his instant popularity led to the development of his own solo series, which quickly became one of the MCU's most successful installments. A cast joined Hahn in Agatha all the timebut she was the highlight of the series, and that was reflected in her recent award nominations.
This new update proves that the criticisms leveled at Marvel Studios throughout the Multiverse Saga are somewhat misguided. Of course there have been issues with the massive increase in work produced for the MCU and the expansion into MCU TV shows on Disney+, but several Multiverse Saga projects have achieved more success than most Infinity Saga episodes, and more actors have been recognized for their contributions. Kathryn Hahn is the latest, joining three other MCU veterans in an elite club and Golden Globe honoree.
Kathryn Hahn joins three other actors as Golden Globe nominees for their roles in the MCU
Only Kathryn Hahn, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Bettany and Angela Bassett were nominated for their roles in the MCU
Nominations for the 82nd Golden Globes ceremony, which airs January 5, 2025, were announced on December 9 and include Kathryn Hahn being nominated for her role in Agatha all the time. Kathryn Hahn was nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series, Musical or Comedy, joining three other actors who were nominated for Golden Globes for their roles in the MCU.. Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany were nominated for the 79th Golden Globe Awards in 2022 for their roles in WandaVisionand Angela Bassett received the nomination and win at the 80th Golden Globe Awards in 2023.
Angela Bassett was the first MCU actress to take home a Golden Globe after her performance in Black Panther: Wakanda Foreverbut Kathryn Hahn could follow in her footsteps. Black Panther and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 were nominated for Golden Globes in other categories, and Ryan Reynolds was nominated for Dead Pool at the 74th Golden Globe Awards in 2017, but this wasn't an MCU film. Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Bettany, Angela Bassett, and Kathryn Hahn proved that the MCU's Multiverse Saga was still a strong era for Marvel Studios.
Why the Multiverse saga produced the MCU's only Golden Globe nominations
No Infinity Saga actors received Golden Globe nominations
While many projects in the MCU's Multiverse Saga have received criticism, the massive increase in award nominations, especially such prestigious awards as the Golden Globes, suggests that there has been more appreciation for Marvel projects post-Avengers: Endgame. WandaVision and Agatha all the time are two of the MCU's most popular and successful TV shows, while Angela Bassett's performance in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever it was excellent. Marvel may have produced some weaker projects in the Multiverse Saga, but also some of the strongest projects in the MCU.

Kathryn Hahn's acting nomination for Agatha all the time is the only Golden Globe nomination for the MCU at this year's ceremony. Even so, it cements the fact that there is still a lot of interest in the MCU, and that the MCU is producing some of the most powerful, popular, and memorable acting performances out there. It's brilliant to see Hahn recognized for her incredible portrayal of Agatha Harkness, and her nomination is a sign that the MCU is still going strong.
