At New York Comic Con, James Gunn offered an update on the progress of Superman (2025), his take on how great new Man of Steel actor David Corenswet is, and teased when DC fans can expect the first trailer:
"The film is going extraordinarily well. We're deep into the editing process. David Corenswet is going to surprise people. He's the movie star everyone dreams he could be. I don't think anyone understands the depth of this guy's talent - dramatically , comedically - he's the best physical action star I've ever worked with, probably, except for.... [protests from the crowd] Frank... and Rachel Brosnahan, people will die for her like Lois...
It's been a great process. The editing is getting very close to being good. The film is good. I feel good about it. [When pressed about whether he has footage with him or a trailer] Don't get too excited... There's no trailer, no Superman trailer. I have some things on my cell phone, I took them away from me in case someone attacks me... It won't be long until we see a trailer, but it won't be anytime soon either.”
