Wanting to have more control over your life, live new experiences and press the reset button after suffering trauma, Sarah wants to study abroad.

Sarah Cushing/Cortez in Superman and Lois

As this is the last season, Sarah's story in Superman and Lois could very well have ended with his big decision in episode 6. However, Steel actor Wolé Parks revealed the Screen speech what "Everyone is on episode 10." As such, Sarah should be back for at least the final episode of the DC series. This allows Superman and Lois Season 4 to return to Sarah and Jordan's romance, closing the door for good or revealing that the two may have a future in the future of this universe, but the audience wouldn't get to see that.

Jordan may end up becoming part of that future, but she wouldn't be the reason Sarah is doing what she chose.

While there is still time to Superman and Lois to rekindle the spark between Jordan and Saraheven if that happened, Inde Navarrette's character would still have broken the tired superhero romance trope anyway. After all, Sarah Cortez's main story in Superman and Lois Season 4 focuses on her finding a way to overcome the trauma of her past and build a new future for herself. Jordan may end up becoming part of that future, but she wouldn't be the reason Sarah is doing what she chose.

By telling her a story that depends only on herself, Superman and Lois Season 4 avoids the pitfalls of superhero romance. Sarah and Jordan could end up together or be teased to get together in the future, without that being all the character is about in the series' final year. This is the best possible outcome for Sarah, and her choice to study abroad serves as the ideal ending to the character's journey of overcoming her trauma, which Superman and Lois carefully developed over four seasons.
