Superman and Lois The big cliffhanger finale to season three meant that season four was set up to be a big deal from the start – and it had already achieved that in just its first two episodes. Superman and Lois The finale of the fourth season, even if it ties up loose ends from the previous chapter of the story.
A lot of emotional moments and revelations were promised. Superman and Lois Season 4, and Superman’s death in the first episode of the final season cements this as reality at the earliest opportunity. What does this mean for the Kent family and Superman and Lois‘ The wider universe is not yet clear, nor is it possible to bring back Tyler Hoechlin’s version of Superman, as the series is playing with that heavily. However, one thing is clear: the final chapter Superman and Lois closes the show in style.
Superman & Lois season four ends with Judgment Day and Superman’s thrilling fight
‘Superman & Lois’ Season 4 Begins With Major Battle Wrapping Up
Naturally, the most important moment that viewers expected from Superman and Lois The fourth season premiered with the final battle between the Man of Steel and Doomsday, which gave the third season a cliffhanger finale. As the trailer suggests, season four opens with the climactic conclusion of this battle, showing the pair going head-to-head with each other throughout episode 1.
This is combined with a series of flashbacks throughout the series and throughout Clark’s life, showing him revealing his secret identity to Lois, Lois giving birth to twins, and a series of romantic and meaningful moments between them. While this gives hope that Clark will use the strong emotions he receives from these memories to help him defeat Doomsday, things don’t work out that way, making the end result even more devastating.
In the end, the battle ends Superman and Lois‘the mutated Bizarro who became Doomsday, who killed Superman and return his body to Earth. It’s alarming that Doomsday doesn’t leave him there, as by leaving Superman’s body to the Kent family – where the pair’s fight originally began – he takes Superman’s heart with him, following Luthor’s orders at the end of season three. However, Jordan then moves Superman’s body to the Fortress of Solitude, where he is in suspended animation, meaning there is still a chance of bringing him back in the future.
Superman and Lois saves an unexpected character in Season 4
General Lane returns after being kidnapped by Lex Luthor
Although it seemed like he was potentially already dead entering Superman and Lois Season 4 – Considering he finished the last season he was kidnapped and thus possibly killed – General Lane manages to complete the events of the premiere episodes alive.although his initial attempt to escape Luthor and his minions failed. After Luthor forces General Lane to dig his own grave and then buries him, Jordan is able to find his grandfather, and Jordan and Lois then rescue the General after the woman who kidnapped him reveals where he is hidden.
This makes Lois realize that Luthor is actively trying to ruin her life, explaining to her father that this is why he targeted Superman and General Lane, as he knows of her connection to both of them. However, Lois also importantly states that she believes he is going to try to turn her sons against her as well, echoing how Luthor feels that Lois turned his daughter Elizabeth against him. Since General Lane is supposedly the only person who knows where Elizabeth is, conflict between him and Lex Luthor will likely arise again in the future.
Lots of new people know the Kent family secret
Lex Luthor Knows Superman’s Secret Identity – And He’s Not the Only One
Superman and Lois Season 4, Episode 2 features some major twists, including the reveal that one of the residents of Smallville – a seemingly friendly man named Chuck – realized that Superman is Clark Kent after seeing the Kent family’s reaction to the hero’s death. Interestingly, Chuck tries to protect the boys when Lex Luthor comes to intimidate them, suggesting that this news could bring the Kents at least one new ally in the future.
Perhaps even more surprising, Luthor seems to have finally realized that Superboy is Jordan Kent, and thus Clark Kent is Superman. – after the young hero tries to threaten Luthor to win back his father’s heart. Previously, Luthor seemed generally unaware of the Man of Steel’s secret identity, although he blamed Lois for turning against him to try to protect Superman in flashback scenes between the two.
Unsurprisingly, the revelation that Lois is married to Superman only makes the idea worse for Lex years later, seemingly prompting him to redouble his plans to destroy the Kent family and everything they hold dear. This also puts the Kent brothers in even more danger, as Lex’s hatred of both Lois and Superman will surely guide his actions towards them.
Lex Luthor’s plans for season four will get even more extreme
Lex Luthor tries his best to realize his evil plans
Lex Luthor’s villainy count up to eleven Superman and Lois season 4where the antagonist received Superman’s heart from Doomsday and kept it in a case that he specially ordered from one “Milton Fiennes”, which is notably Brainiac’s alias in the comics and thus could have big implications for future episodes. Luthor then uses this to set a trap for the Kent family, culminating in Jordan taking the bait and trying to save his father’s heart to try to allow Clark’s healing factor and Kryptonian technology to bring him back when he recovers.
Instead, Jordan discovers that the heartbeat he thought belonged to his father is actually a fake implanted in a Superman action figure, and then a trap is sprung: Luthor’s team subdues Jordan and forces him to watch Luthor trample on his beloved father’s heart . That alone would be enough, but the villain also uses the moment to get to Lois with a phone call that forces her to choose which of her children she wants to protect.
Interestingly, this also clearly shows the beginning of how Luthor’s plans could be thwarted: family friend and Smallville mayor Lana Lane decides to confront Luthor by undermining his legal rights to the real estate around Smallville, and Luthor’s people explain that the stock has plummeted. since he got out of prison and that he needs to return to Metropolis for his business to flourish. So, it doesn’t seem like the villain’s empire is untouchable, even if he manages to pull off some terrifying stunts in the first two episodes.
Superman returns – but not in the way you expected
Superman returns to the screen in an unexpected way
Surprisingly Superman and Lois The season four premiere does show Tyler Hoechlin’s Kal-El returning in some sense after his battle with Doomsday – but not in the way viewers might expect. In the second episode, Superman returns in hologram form.much in the same vein, his own mother and father appear in the series as holograms who provide Clark with advice and information throughout the show.
It’s an effective way to allow a version of Superman to be part of Season 4 conversations where he otherwise wouldn’t be, but it also makes it less clear whether Clark himself will necessarily return – since there’s a version of Superman his sons can talk to. and come to terms with. However, given that the series adapts the comic book The Death of Superman, which also revives Superman, let’s hope. Superman and Lois The fourth season will also see the return of the iconic DC hero in the flesh.
