Super Dark DC Universe Theory Explains How 2025 Superman Movie Sets Up Green Lantern Gig

I know a very dark way to 2025 Superman You can configure upcoming events Flashlights show. Although DC Studios’ new DC Universe is set to begin with the animated series Creature Commands in 2024, the first live-action film will be Superman from director James Gunn and will soon be followed by Flashlights as its first live-action series. To that end, I think I’ve figured out how the Green Lantern show will be put together by Supermanalbeit with a rather dark touch.

Unfortunately, the 2011 live-action Green Lantern the film starring Ryan Reynolds was not well received and is widely considered one of the worst superhero films of all time. However, it appears that Warner Bros. is finally ready to try again with Flashlightsa new live-action DCU series starring two iconic Green Lanterns. That being said, tHere are some important plot details and casting information related to 2025 Superman This makes me think of the plot of Flashlights it will be incredibly dark with the death of a major character.

Currently, details about the next Flashlights series are scarce, although there have been some pretty interesting announcements in recent months. Firstly, the show will follow legendary Green Lantern legend Hal Jordan, who will be played by actor Kyle Chandler. Likewise, Jordan will be joined by new newcomer John Stewart, who will be played by Aaron Pierre. According to Lanterns’ official synopsis, the show will feature Jordan and Stewart as they engage in “a dark Earth-based mystery as they investigate a murder in the heart of the United States.

It’s worth noting that Jordan and his fellow human Lanterns in the comics are typically tasked with patrolling Sector 2814. This is a large region of space that includes Earth in its greater jurisdiction, meaning they don’t just protect their own home world. As such, it makes me wonder why a single murder on Earth would require Jordan and Stewart’s involvement.especially when there are several worlds that need your assistance and protection. Likewise, Earth is also home to other established heroes, as will soon be revealed in the DCU with Superman which will precede the launch of Flashlights.

2025’s Superman Will Debut a Green Lantern Already Operating on Earth

Guy Gardner Is Working on Mister Terrific, Hawkgirl, and More

Keeping Superman in mind, it’s important to note that one of Earth’s established heroes will be none other than Green Lantern Guy Gardner. Confirmed to be played by Nathan Fillion, Guy Gardner is expected to appear in Superman alongside other heroes as Hawkgirl (Isabella Merced), Metamorpho (Anthony Carrigan) and Mister Terrific (Edi Gathegi). Based on their matching uniforms, this group of four heroes appears to be sponsored by Maxwell Lord (Sean Gunn), likely like the DCU’s version of Justice League International. Additionally, photos and videos have suggested that they could try to recruit Superman to their team.

In the comics, Guy Gardner originally became a Green Lantern as a reserve officer in case something happened to Jordan, the original human Green Lantern. He was also a founding member of the Justice League International. Although he is worthy of his Green Lantern ring, Guy is also quite unpleasant, having a very short temper and often butting heads with his fellow heroes. Without considering, the implication that Guy appears to be a permanent member of the DCU’s JLI makes me wonder even more why Jordan and Stewart are being brought in to investigate an Earth-based murder when there should already be an active flashlight ready to respond.

Keeping all this in mind, I realized that there is a very dark possibility that Nathan Fillion’s Guy Gardner is Lanterns’ murder victim. This would explain why Jordan and Stewart are investigating a murder on Earth, seeing as how the victim would be one of their own. Likewise, Guy’s death could also explain John Stewart’s recent recruitment as a rookie Green Lantern, as he was originally recruited in the comics to serve as a new reserve officer after Guy was hit by a bus during an earthquake and was in recovery.

For all his flaws as the least-liked Green Lantern, Guy Gardner’s murder is certainly a dark and tragic idea, especially so soon after his imminent introduction in 2025. Superman. That being said, I think it would be a very compelling way to heighten the stakes of the show, while also helping to explain the central premise of the show. Flashlights and why it will be set primarily on Earth. Additionally, it would also generate some major connectivity between the first film and live-action series in the new DCU.

Superman is scheduled to be released on July 11, 2025, while Flashlights is scheduled to begin broadcasting in 2026.
